johnny carino's

very disappointed!!!. my wife and i go to johnny carinos all of the time and not every visit can be perfect, but this last visit was just down right terrible. the waitress was very rude and treated my wife and i like second rate citizens because we didn't order an appetizer. then after we ordered our food she completely ignored us until our food was ready. when the food came out i had to ask her if this was the lunch portion because it was so small. i ordered the chicken scallopini and it came with both chicken breast but hardly any pasta, plus the sauce gated like it had be sitting in awarder all day and had a burnt taste to iron top of that. my wife ordered the spicy chicken and shrimp and her portion was also small and way too salty. johnny carinos has always been mine and my wifes date place but i think for now on we are going to find somewhere else.

not too bad, but had better.. went for dinner and had the stuffed mushrooms for a starter. those were really good! the fresh bread and salad were really good as well, but the main dish i had was the shrimp scampi and it was very disappointing. it lacked very much flavor at all. had to put salt and lots of cheese for it to be edible. the steamed shrimp in it were good, as were the mushrooms, but that's where it stops.
might try it again and have something else, but we'll see.

slow service, but great food. this has turned into one of my favorite italian places in indy. i've made the trip here several times and have had great experiences with each visit. the food has been of great quality; very fresh, full of flavor and very reasonably priced considering the portions you get. the only negative i can really point out would be the service. at times, it can be a bit slow, even when their dining room isn't that full. that aside, i still recommend them. the service doesn't take away from how good the food is.

a step up from o.garden which is really two steps up from microwaved italian food. the food is blah for the price and when you find diffrent types of pasta noodles in your dish,it's not a good sign. for example finding angel hair pasta in your bowtie pasta dish. what's going on here? they really need to take more care into cooking their dishes. won't be back for awhile. the quality of the food really doesn't add up to the mid to high prices.

excellent food excellent service my favorite restaurant good italian food is hard to find in the area. i found it here so grateful i have never had a bad meal here.

yummy! prefer it over olive garden.. it's not authentic italian, but the fare is certainly delightful. i've never had a dish there i haven't loved and leftovers never go to waste because they reheat pretty well. they make your food to order, meaning if you don't like something in the dish, they can change it for you easily. family sized platters can feed about 4 people with modest appetites, which is a steal for around $25. a regular entree can easily be split between two people. they have these wonderful mini sized desserts for $2 too! i'm a big fan of the italian chocolate cake. the host staff is okay at best, but the waitstaff and management are usually pretty stellar! managers can usually be seen making sweeps through the dining room during busy hours, filling glasses, chatting with customers, running food, etc. i love it when they don't hide in the back!

great food. nice atmosphere.

i hope this isn't a permanent closure!

i've gone here for years. great pizza. i can't imagine this place closing.

i’ve always preferred carino’s to olive garden ever since carino’s opened. i’ve never been to og since! this location used to be my favorite but once the columbus location opened i’ve been dining there (it’s a lot closer to home.) carino’s is always a good dining experience. they’ve never let me down.

i've been a returning customer of johnny carino's for the past 4 years. in addition to be a returning customer, i've also highly recommended johnny carino's to family, friends as well as celebrated many birthdays there; however, today at 12:00pm, 09/13/2016, i've received one of the worst managerial handled situations i've ever had not only at johnny carino's but also within corpus christi area. the individual, who stated he was kitchen manager did not resolve the issue and chose to make it worse by remaining condescending during the entire conversation. it's very conducive for a business to train their staff well and understand how lunch specials works before any customer makes an order. i placed an order for the 2 for 1 special, which was gladly received by the waiter. while waiting for the food, the waiter came back and told me i'm not permitted to order the 2 for 1 special and take the second plate to go. it would have been fine being told this at first instead of minutes before my primary plate was being placed on the table. furthermore, if he would have provided me with the second plate to go and utilized this as an attempt to train his staff then it would have been handled as it should have been. however, due to his lacking in both managerial relations as well as customer relations, the customer is the one who loses? managers are the forefront of any business and in most cases managers seek to make a situation better than worse as he had chosen. for this, i've chosen to give johnny carinos 1 star and will publish this on facebook as well contact the chain.

food and serve was very poor.  only 4 tables being waited on it was 2:30 pm. there was a door greeter, several waiters and manager roamed around.  however all four groups were seated in the same area with the same waitress.    it took food over 18 minutes to be served and then had no flavor.  waitress never refilled our drinks.  oh yea - we had to ask for bread.  then she asked if we wanted cheese and we said yes it took over 9 minutes to return and her reasoning was she was so busy.  while she walked back and forth giving customer their ck, and then refilling drinks and also providing to go boxes.  meanwhile we are waiting for cheese.  location is poorly manager and cooks need training on how to season italian foods.

used to go all the time a few years back and then stopped for a while as we'd moved away... tried it when we came back and found that it wasn't the same... didn't taste the same and menu was different. bring back the 2008 menu and all will be right with the world! 😀

horrible!. came for a nice dinner and we seriously had to wait an hour for our food to even get to the table! the waitress sucked and i would not ever recommend coming here even to my worst enemy! sucky service and the waitresses and bar tender were taking drinks out of a customers drink before it went to the customer. nasty if you ask me! the only ones doing there job here were the bus boys who were so nice and respectful.

they are closed. we tried to eat there and they are closed. not sure if this is a permanent closure or temporary.

better than olive garden, a little pricey. as far as pasta and italian-style cuisine, johnny carino's was not bad (i would say a 7/10). the flavors were there, the food dishes were large, and the service was great. the only thing was that it was pricey and one can easily rack up a large bill. other than that, my husband and i did determine that we would indeed come back in maybe a month or two to try them out since we had a good experience with them. much better than olive garden, that's for sure!

great food & service! italian nachos are the best! italian margarita was a great drink too!. first time visiting here. we sampled a variety of items. the italian nachos were a "fantastic surprise" of great flavor! the italian margarita drink was "smooth and flavorful". the meatballs were pretty much average to us. the five meat tuscan pasta dish was "very good and quite plentiful". lastly, the skilletini (with sausage) was just meh, flat. our service was fantastic! pics included. enjoy!
