soooooooo good. my latte tastes like liquid coffee caramel!! :) and the space itself is so very cute too. such a delight to drop by jmh whenever i'm in the city.

great coffee - amazing staff. for purely selfish reasons please do not go here.

seriously anyone who likes a good coffee hit in the mornings(or in my case anytime of the day), amazing hot chocolates in the cold, ice drinks when its baking outside or even flowers if you are in the dog house. go here!

tough to find as it is in the depths of the city but look out for the sign boards.

this is my favourite coffee shop in the city. the staff are always lovely. the coffee is the best in the city. they have a great selection of coffee beans for sale that you can take home. and the shop is like a tucked away little gem in the heart of the cbd. couldn’t recommend it more.

friendly staff, amazing coffee, chill vibes. apparently open at night for alcohol too, cant wait to try that out next time. definitely recommended!

great coffee and service in a really great little spot! im not sure what goes into their chocolate milk but i suspect it is borderline illegal.

all good food bloggers know, often the best food and drink can be found at the end of dark alleyways. that, or an axe murderer. but with a love of food that is so great that i risk my life on a regular basis, i found myself walking down a no so dark alleyway to the infamous cafe, john mills himself, situated behind jia ba way.

our first morning in brisbane and on the hunt for good coffee. a quick zomato search lead me to this hidden gem. excellent coffee, great atmosphere and super freindly staff. well worth the search and the wait.

an awesome place for a coffee drop in! i had a flat white which is one of the best i've ever had. it's small, but really friendly and has great atmosphere.

**note: review is heavily based on coffee.this place is seriously a brisbane cbd gem and easy to miss if you're not looking for it. i came with a friend for an early morning coffee catchup. 

the hip, chic decor gave off a cool melbourne-esque ambience, with soft, indie music playing in the background. the small space was good for catch-ups with 1 or 2 friends; however, the small space may be limiting for big-group catch ups. benches where you put food and drinks was also a bit narrow, although it fit the decor really well. (3.5/5)

service-wise, the barista who served us was lovely and had a good sense of humour. he took our orders and made jokes that made me and my friend laugh. with a number of people lining up, the baristas did well in not taking too long to bring our drinks and food. presentation was also quite impressive for a stressful period. (4.5/5)

i ordered a soy piccolo while my friend got a cappuccino + blueberry danish. the coffee was decent - quite smooth with good strength. we were both amused by her cappuccino which was topped chocolate shavings instead of the traditional chocolate powder. she really enjoyed it though, as well as a danish. other small baked goods lining the counter looked very good (4.5/5). **note: i later returned to try their prepared, iced, bottled and freshly cold-pressed coffee. it was very good.

john mills himself is definitely one of my number one picks for a good place to get coffee.

tried the lavender hot dark chocolate, which was really well balanced. the lavender flavour was really strong and it wasn't too bad, but it wasn't the best combination. i wouldn't mind having it again, but i'd definitely love to try the other exquisite flavours on their menu.

john mills himself is one of my favourite coffee spots in brisbane. luckily for me i also work nearby so i'm in almost daily! the coffee is always perfect, and the service is some of the best you'll find, they even remember customer names. they don't have a food menu but get some delicious pastries and cakes in daily. also fun fact, jmh open at night as a bar.
