loved the warm ambiance. window seating on the first floor is the best. it gives a lovely and peaceful view of the mountains.
based on what i have had here:
1. spinach mushroom cheese omelet - so yummy, cheesy, mushroomy, melt in the mouth. loved it.
2. veggie delight pizza is a good thin crust pizza. however, my suggestion would be to make it more cheesy.
3. i also had the mushroom cheddar potato – they serve 3 potatoes with a mushroom cheddar filling along with a side of veggies. this tasted okay-ish!
4. the ginger lemon honey tea is very very good.
5. the tibetan butter tea is also decent, but it is just milk and butter i guess. there was no black tea or any other tea in it.
6. their banoffee pie was is the best. literally the best. you taste the bananas, the cream, and the biscuit layer at the bottom. and nowhere is it too crunchy, or too soggy. it is the perfect amount of sweetness and it melts in your mouth. and when you have it with a cup of hot coffee, it is literally heaven.
7. chocolate mousse - this was rich, creamy, so chocolaty, and yet so light. they serve it cold, so it tasted somewhat like a chocolate icecream, and a scoop of nutella had a baby. neither too sweet, nor too bitter. this is served in cutting chai glasses and it is just the perfect chocolate dessert. it'll be very difficult for me to enjoy some other chocolate mousse now because the bar is set so high.
8. their tiramisu pastry is the best tiramisu pastry i have ever eaten. perfect balance of coffee without tasting bitter (as is usually the case with any other tiramisu pastry i have had).
9. their apple crumble is probably the only dessert which i did not fancy much. it was very crumbly and flaky for me.
when it comes to desserts and pastries, jimmy’s kitchen has really nailed it and i cannot wait to go back to mcleodganj and treat myself to all their goodies.
