izzy;s is a classical olde time san francisco bar and restaurant. you sense this as soon as you walk in the door to a very friendly greeting. our waiter fit into the same category--someone who has been there for many years and has memories to match. the food was excellent and more than we could eat. the price was very reasonable for san francisco.

excellent mussel appetizer, great scalloped potatoes, delicious sauces. steaks were good, not great, but one of the best meals i've had in a while.

their suggested sides (scalloped potatoes and creamed spinach) were delish. the ny strip was cooked properly, but wasn't as flavorful as i had hoped. good service. still recommend, but maybe a different entree.

the ribeye steak was cooked to perfection. the izzy potatoes were wonderful. service was great.
