would give zero stars if allowed. do not eat here - healthcode violations, ants...and horrible service!

i meet a friend who likes to come here for coffee occasionally, and have gone in several times. every time, i am floored by how rude and dismissive the staff is. today, however, took the cake - or the ants took the muffin - as you will see...

my friend went in to get a coffee and she asked if they had any gluten-free items. the woman working at issaquah coffee pointed to some things on a plate behind the counter. so, my friend asked what they were. the woman working there then reluctantly explained the items, and my friend asked for the muffin. as the woman behind the counter reached for the muffin, my friend noticed that the plate the items were on was *crawling with ants*. she said, "it looks like there are ants on that plate," to which the woman behind the counter replied, "ok." and the woman *proceeded to put the muffin into a bag* to sell to my friend. my friend looked in the bag, and there were *ants crawling around inside of the bag* this is, mind you, after my friend had pointed out that there were ants on the plate! so my friend politely said she did not want the muffin, because there were ants in the bag, and the woman said, "fine." and she proceeded to take the muffin out of the bag and put it back on the ant-filled plate behind the counter to sell to someone else.

no apology, no accountability, no politeness whatsoever. which, sadly, is typical and what i have come to expect from this place.

neither i, nor my friend, obviously, will ever be going back there. and you should not go there either. and, yes, we will be calling the health department to report this.

it's busy here, but it deserves to be. location is great, coffee is fantastic and the huge selection of pastries that are all delicious. service isn't the friendliest, those hipster kids are a bit too cool for school, but it's coffee so you don't have to deal with them for long.

the place is loud and the baristas could brush up on some customer service skills. rather go to starbucks.

really good then pretty good. i was excited when i found out issaquah coffee carried stumptown which i really liked on my recent trip to portland. the first latte i had there was really good with rich crema on top so the barista knew her stuff. i went back the next day and ordered the same thing, 20oz hazelnut latte and it was good but just not as good as the first one. as far as lattes in issaquah i think they are the best. i still prefer victor's (roasted on site) and sunrise donuts (caffe d'arte) in redmond.
