ischia restaurant

we got take away parma pizza and slow cooked beef ragu, and it was great ! the food was ready to collect quickly and still hot and tasted fresh when we got home. definitely will have to go here again and do a dine in experience!

this was our second visit to ischia. we loove italian food and arancini is definitely our favorite entree to order in any restaurant. sadly the arancini here was my least favorite of all time, and any restaurant.

although they had great consistency, the rice balls were completely flavorless. the menu describes them as filled with mozzarella cheese and a spicy arabiata sauce. our portion was lacking not just the spicy part but any kind of flavor. a bland ball of rice with mozzarella and a side of garlic aioli is what we got and this definitely wasn't what we were hoping to start our dinner with.

probably even more frustrating was the fact that i wanted to mention it immediately as i wanted to at least ask for arabiata on the side, or just for some salt (there was no s/p on our table) but we couldn't make contact with any of the staff and our server didn't come around until we've long finished. maybe we didn't get that much attention due to sitting outside a bit away from the entrance, i don't know. our server seemed to be in a rush when we ordered our mains, so again there was no opportunity to say anything.

we have also finished our pizzas without anybody checking in on us. my partner was content with his pizza regina, which was a simple margerita with buffalo mozzarella. i've ordered pizza ischia and have asked to have no cherry tomatoes or parsley but they forgot to put garlic on as well, therefore the pizza was quite bland. luckily the guy that brought the pizza also brought some chili oil, which definitely helped to make it tastier.

after we paid and still nobody asked us how everything was, i mentioned the arancini to the front staff, because i do think that they should know so maybe they could fix the batch and other customers could have a better experience.

on a better note, we both thought that their pizza dough is extremely nice. it makes the pizza very light as a meal. and as you can see from the photo, my pizza was topped generously. and we've had the chocolaty almondy cake again and again it was fantastic!

as i have worked in hospitality for years myself, i consider myself to be very patient when eating out. i am one of those people that are happy customers even when not all is perfect, as long as things are fixed to a satisfying level. with ischia there is definitely room for improvement of the service.

ischia came recommended by an italian friend. one fine evening, with a craving for pasta, i decided to take her up on that recommendation.. and was i glad i did. their pasta (i've tried four different types there since) is a l w a y s perfectly al dente and portions are on the larger side. staff are always friendly, welcoming and accommodating as well.
i don't usually order a starter there because the mains are more than sufficient. the prawn seafood starter i ordered once was delicious but rather pricey for the portion size received.

my partner and i dined at ischia recently and unfortunately we were disappointed with our meals.
my partner ordered the stuffed squid which turned out to be quite tough and chewy.
i have a love for broccolini so when i see it in the menu or as a side i like to order it.
on this occasion it was supposed to come with my scallopini so i was not impressed when my meal arrived with broccoli.

went there 2 weeks ago, had a 8:30pm booking, service was attentive and food was fresh and delicious. went again last night, had a booking for 10pm- was seating and was asked for what kind of water we’d like, we asked for sparkling. once served our waiter said the kitchen was already closed and only serving pizza - wished we were told that earlier as we were hoping for pasta, salad and pizza. anyways, we were deciding for what pizza to eat and could see our water discussing with another waiter our disappointment. we ordered some drinks and 2 pizzas to share. both arrived and delicious! except the one my boyfriend ordered had a long stand of black hair in it, my boyfriend said he wasn’t bothered and continued eating, but mentioned it to the waitress (with long black hair in a ponytail with the sides out) when she asked how our meal was. we mentioned the meal was delicious and that we aren’t looking for a free meal but just letting her know the pizza he received on his side of the table had a long black strand of hair.. she looked at me ( i had long light brown hair with blonde stands) and compared the hair to mine, and said no one else in the place had hair like this. she walked over to another waiter and was holding her hair out to and was looking at me , and the waiter came over he said (very denfensively) that no one else in the place had long black hair like this. (there were a few workers in the restaurant with black hair). anyway, we weren’t looking for a free meal but we both felt were treated like unfairly, we felt the staff were defensive about the hair in the pizza (which was on my boyfriends side of the table (he has shaved hair). we were charged the full price of the meal and left. we spoke about the night with friends and family and felt it was terrible service. very disappointing: the fact i was made to feel awkward when the waitress was staring at my hair and looking at the hair on the pizza was extremely rude. the hair was different colours! anyway, our initial experience was fantastic however our experience yesterday made us pretty sad in how we were treated as customers.

grabbed the prawn and mango salad which was tasty, but expensive at $19 for 6 prawns. the carbonara was cheaper and super tasty. great service and drinks, and some of the other pizza and pasta dishes i saw looked fantastic, will be back. particularly loved the al fresco area.

when i visited ischia ristorante first time was at their grand opening party!!

their authentic & proudly produced italian pizza were so delicious 😋 they were came out from their iconic ocean blue woodfire oven, then straight to the table (still steaming!!!!!). smells so inviting and especially the dough was my favourite type, very flavoursome, chewy and perfect texture!!!!!
i loved its flavour when it got closed to my mouth, i could smell a beautiful woodfire smorkiness from it. they kept my mouth watering!!

it really reminded me the pizza which i had in ischia island in italy 🇮🇹 

at the party, the pizze were baked nonstop and came out to the huge table, with lots of different toppings and the surprisingly biggest size of pizza in perth which was 180cm!!!!!

everyone was taking pictures because they were sooooo instagramable😍📱📸🍕 (actually it was a bit hard for me to take photos as i’ve never seen such a huge pizza in my life!!)

since that time, i keep visiting ischia every time when i feel “italian”.

strongly suggest to try their pizza “burrata”!! (i always add extra cherry tomatoes)😋 you won’t regret and will thank me and ischia ristorante❣️ buon appetito🍽

my boyfriend and i had dinner in this restaurant on friday night! without reservation with kindness and smiles they immediately gave us a table, even though the restaurant was full! attentive service, impeccable, fun, and very familiar! a special thanks to the two waitresses who made us feel at home, even if they were not italian! and serious congratulations for the excellent cuisine and delicious pizza! well done guys! we will be back!

we organised a pizza party for the office and everyone was raving about how great the pizzas were. sebestien was so friendly when delivering the pizza. definitely one of the best pizzas around perth. we ordered from the pizza special menu and the pricing was really affordable. thank you so much for this, everyone enjoyed it.

this has become my go-to italian restaurant. my mum hates red sauce but loves ordering spaghetti marinara here. she says the red sauce here is delicious and isn’t sour like a lot of other italian restaurants. the owner and staff are also friendly. i would highly recommend! :)

fantastic service, you can tell that the staff enjoy working there, they are super attentive.
the place consistently had people walking through the door, tables turning over.. so busy, it’s a great sign.
ordered olives n feta to start, the tartufo pizza (pork sausage, truffle oil, mushrooms and rocket) delicious and pasta ragu which was delicious! wrapped it up with a boozy tiramisu yum!
great place, the pizza planks look next level! i’d recommend!

i’m not sure that i understand the ‘review ratings ‘ on this app. before my rating there were 9 reviews. 8/9were reviews scored 5⭐️ and 1/9 a 4⭐️. i came here to give a 2⭐️review for a pretty average uber takeaway pizza. however, now i feel sorry for this small business. how do they average a 2.9⭐️ without the reviews to support that??!🧐
