we've been going here for 10yrs plus. every restaurant has it's great dishes, and at the hunan pearl, i'd say the crispy shrimp with a side of cream sauce, the hunan pearl chicken (it's black bean) and believe it or not, the hot and sour soup are among the best.

best pot stickers in town. try the garlic sauce dishes. general tso's great too.

my family of four went here today for lunch for the first time in a very long time. we ordered broccoli beef, chicken in garlic sauce, cashew shrimp, sweet and sour chicken and a fried rice (each dish around $7.50). the egg drop soup was good, usually i'm not a fan of egg drop soups. when the food came i noticed the portions were fairly small (probably because they were lunch portions) however it was all very delicious. it's not as greasy and heavy as a lot of other chinese restaurants and i love that. we didn't get to take home any leftovers like we usually do when we get chinese but that's okay. i'd definitely come here again because the food is really tasty and doesn't leave you feeling super lethargic like i usually feel after chinese.

not even hunan food.. with a name like hunan pearl one would expect dishes from hunan on their menu. their website even states, "hunan pearl restaurant specializes in distinctive chinese cuisine, originating from the hunan province in china. " our first tip-off that this is a cantonese restaurant masquerading as a hunan one was that they do not even mandarin. when we spoke to them in mandarin they appeared confused. the dishes here are more or less standard american-chinese and poor cantonese dishes. if you are actually interested in real chinese food i would suggest checking out books by fuchia dunlop. this restaurant is as far from real chinese as a panda express.

absolutely fantastic! i eat.... absolutely fantastic!
i eat at many restaurants when traveling ansi have to say this chinese is top notch.
seasonal specialty of strawberry prawn is worth it's weight in gold.
great job!!

very unsatisfying. egg rolls are terribly skinny, but worse: virtually all dough and nothing inside! very disappointing.

noodle soup was tasteless, and the "meats" (chicken? pork?) were suspect.

all in all, my first visit will now be my last.

the green beans are cooked and seasoned to perfection. we also enjoy their kung pap chicken. service is friendly and fast, pretty atmosphere.

super nice staff! great menu! been here twice on my 10 day stay and loved it both times! try the salmon with salt and black pepper... amazing!

never should have looked elsewhere.... i used to eat here often, mid-decade, but moved out of area. upon my return, we have searched high and low for good chinese to continued disappointment. renewed my acquaintance with hunan pearl tonight along with two new converts. all three of us agree, best we've had in quite some time. **highly recommended - five-flavored prawns; incredible sauce, even better on rice than on prawns themselves.

i finally found a chinese restaurant that makes me wanna come back again and again. the food is beyond amazing, and the service was stellar. everything from appetizer to drinks to entrée was incredible. i can't recommend it enough.

i've been going here for years.. as the title reads, always outstanding service, i have gotten to know the management by name. i never used to eat chinese food until i walked into this place and it has been a pleasure ever since. absolutely recommend this place to any and everyone who enjoys even the simplest of chinese cuisine.

very attentive and polite service (saturday evening). mooshu pork was delightful, and the lemon chicken tasty without being overpowering. portion sizes were generous and resulted in a second meal to take home.

excellent. authentic...plenty of oil in the sauce to capture all the true flavors of chinese cuisine. absolutely delicious, inexpensive, expedient.
