never going here again - never even got a server. couldn't even stay long enough to eat. never experienced such bad service. our server never came to our table, not even to greet us or serve water. 3 tables right next to us had servers within 1 minute of sitting down. restaurant was otherwise completely empty. hostess told us twice she was getting our server, never showed. i can't believe this is what we got from cameron mitchell. we left and went to third and hollywood - one of our favorites - where we were greeted and served immediately.

had a great mother's day lunch. i had the scallops, perfectly cooked & well flavored, with house crafted daiquiri which was also excellent. great dark upscale atmosphere with attentive service. will be back.

the atmosphere is really nice and comfortable. just what you'd expect from a mitchell establishment. my kids had rigatoni and salmon and it disappeared in minutes. my wife also had the salmon. our friends had a burger and flatbread. everyone enjoyed their meals. i chose the sunday special of ribs and half chicken. i really hate to say it but it was the worst meal i've ever had at one of his restaurants. the waiter told me how great and tender the ribs were so i got them. when they came they looked amazing but when i started in to eat them they were tough and almost inedible. i will say the bbq sauce on them was quite good. the rotisserie chicken was just ok. nothing i'd order again. first impression i was disappointed by my meal but everyone enjoyed theirs. so i will absolutely go back i just would not recommend the ribs. looking forward to trying something else on the menu next time.

may 5, 2015 leave a comment hudson 29 kitchen + drink ( facebook / @cmrcolumbus / instagram: @cmrcolumbus ) 1600 w. lane ave. ( map it! ) upper arlington, oh 43221 (614) 487-0622 open mon-thurs, 11:30a-10p; fri, 11:30a-11p; sat, 11a-11p; sun, 11a-9p (brunch served sat & sun, 11a-3p) vegetarian/vegan/gluten free? y/n/y kid-friendly? y visited : sunday, april 19, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. although new cameron mitchell restaurants tend to enter the world to great fanfare, hudson 29 flew under the radar for me, especially compared to spots like the guild house, the pearl , and the barn . i think because i didn’t quite know what it was all about, and i never quite made arrangements to visit. but now we have, thanks to a kind invitation from the folks at cmr. hudson 29 is situated down lane avenue in a new development across from the whole foods and the shops at lane. the restaurant has been in the news a little more, as a second hudson 29 opened in new albany just recently. both hudson 29s take their name from two sources: owner cameron mitchell’s education at the culinary institute of american in the hudson river valley, and route 29, the main road running through napa valley, california. but let’s talk about brunch! like all cameron mitchell restaurants, hudson 29 is focused on the lunch/dinner/drinks experience, with a solid weekend brunch on the table, too. our visit took place on a quiet sunday a couple weeks ago. the restaurant is a long corner space, beginning with a bar area and booths, then moving back to a main din

$16 for a burger and fries might seem pricey, but it is worth it for the hudson 29 cheeseburger! it's simple and done just right with two
ground daily beef patties, american cheese, sweet pickle mayonnaise, shredded lettuce, tomato and onion.

nice sear and seasoning on the patties and i can't explain it, but shredded lettuce does it for me every time! it's an old school diner burger elevated to finer dining.

for dessert, i ventured outside my normal chocolate/peanut butter realm and went with the pineapple upside down cake donut holes with caramel dipping sauce.

sugar dusted donut holes with pieces of pineapple inside and a salty caramel accoutrement to dredge then in.

posted on april 17, 2015 | leave a comment one of cameron mitchell’s newer signature restaurants, hudson 29 kitchen + drink in upper arlington, recently celebrated their 1-year anniversary by adding a sunday brunch line-up to their already stellar menu. being that i just so happen to have a love for the early-day eats, the wife and i were invited by  cameron mitchell restaurants to come and sample some of their newest offerings at the posh, yet comfortable eatery. hudson 29 is located along w. lane ave, just west of the osu campus area, and across the street from the bustling shops on lane avenue plaza. according to their website, h29 is named for the storied hudson river valley, which is home to the culinary institute of america, and the route that winds through napa valley. their menu is inspired by the flavors and influences of both. with that in mind, we happily sent our boy off to church with his grandparents (we don’t get much alone time), and we headed for h29. we arrived just before noon on a recent sunday, looking forward to a lovely morning of incredible brunching together. in similar fashion to many of cm’s restaurants, hudson 29 is gorgeous inside, featuring warm, dark wood tones, rich leather, and colorful artwork in a modern, streamlined space. the luxurious fireplace in the waiting area made us feel like we were walking into the home of a friend instead of a dining establishment, and the hostesses were extremely welcoming. the elegant, main dining area houses a large bar in the center of the room and the kitchen beyond that, and is outlined by several comfortable booths. as is common in many of cm’s restaurants, portions of the remaining space are separated into smaller dining rooms, which creates an intimate and classy ambiance. there are also rooms designed specifically for larger parties. this particular room focuses around a single banquet table and is highlighted by some trendy lighting and upscale décor. mrs. grub guy particularly loved the hand

loud. loud. loud. yes, i'm shouting and you will too if you want to be heard. this place is hazardous to your hearing and the food is so-so and radically overpriced. if you want the driest most tasteless ruben in columbus for mere $17, then this your kind of place.

my dining experience on 9/7/14. when i go to a restaurant in the "luxury" category i always try the caesar salad if it's available.that tells me a lot about whether the restaurant has an attention to detail. unfortunately hudson 29 failed that test. they served a smallish chopped salad tossed with a very mediocre dressing. no anchovies on top, no garlic croutons, no beautiful whole leaves of romaine.. no kick to it ...no nothing!

most of the rest of the food was good but not exceptional. the only thing i can classify as exceptional was the kale and couscous salad with lemon dressing which others at my table got with their salmon. the flatbread was also very mediocre and while it looked "crackery", when you bit into it, it was chewy with almost no flavor or seasoning.

paul: our server explains that the restaurant has no freezer. everything is fresh. he suggests the cheese stuffed house baked butter rolls.
candice: sounds good. we'll have that and the wine board.
paul: i order the french dip sandwich.
candice: and i the scallops.

big disappointment. i went two different times for dinner hoping that maybe i just had a bad experience the first time. but, sad to say, it was worse the second go round. we waited over an hour and a half for our table. we did receive a free glass of wine for our time. the service was marginal at best which is very uncharacteristic for a cameron mitchell restaurant. i ordered the bbq chicken flatbread and it tasted like it had been sitting there for over an hour. it was cold and the flavors were not good. the cheese butter rolls were just ok, maybe they were sitting for a while as well? the cantonese chicken salad had good flavor but the chicken did not seem to be cooked all the way. i do like the atmostphere and drink selection, but that is about it.
