bad for community groups. as a local grassroots activist organization, we tried to use their basement as a meeting space on a weekly basis. however, after a couple of missed meetings due to some rare circumstances, hooked on colfax rudely kicked us out of their space, with very little notice, leaving us in a scramble to find a new place to meet. i also asked them to give us some guidelines on when they'd need us to cancel by, but they refused to do so. if you're looking for a space to host your local activist groups, this place is seriously not left friendly or interested in helping local organizations - it's all about their bottomline. there are better community spaces that are much more friendly like the deer pile in the space above city o city, or the basement at gypsy tea house so look into those instead.
not only that, the staff was rude and unhelpful, they did not manage the space at all as we frequently had to ask people to leave the area even though it had been reserved for us. service is terrible, seriously. also the space in the basement is very poorly lit and dirty.
just go somewhere else for your community events!
