cute little restaurant west of downtown. it seemed like a slightly sketchy area but so glad we stopped in! friendly service and the biggest menu selection known to man. the salsa was spicy and plentiful so that's a win. next time i'll need to try the sopapillas.

the service. i went to herreras on sylvan hoping to find a closer alternative to ojeda. as soon as i walked in they treated me like i shouldn't be there i went to the hostess area to pick up my order i called in which was 15 mins. ago on the phone i said hello but no hello in response from either of the three people that was at the counter they took the payment andthey placed the receipt on the counter while i had my hand open for it not to mention when i left the guy was waiting outside like he suspected me to be a problem and might i add no goodbye or come again ...icing on the cake i spent $16 and they didn't give me my complete order no guacamole no sour cream smh

sticker shock. i gotta say, my takeaway from this place was the check. 3 breakfast tacos = 8 plus greeenbacks, yowza!! i assumed it would be a a good amount of food, nope, not for 100 plus pesos! the food,. . . well chirizo, egg and cheese, was okay, the price is what i will remember....

one of our regulars. we enjoy there bean soup and lunches. we are over 60 so can't take too much spicy food. there's is just right for my stomach. we have been coming here for over 15 yrs 3 or 4 times a month. when my husband worked the guys at otis elevator would often meet there for lunch. now we just go because we like it.

way over priced!. a group of 5 ladies and i went to the maple ave location. the service was good the food was marginal.
i ordered huevos ranchero, with two pork chops. i didn’t want the refried beans and asked if i could have potatoes instead and was told yes. when the food arrived there were beans on the plate and a side dish of potatoes.
i will never go there again. the total for my bill............................. 2 eggs, 2 pork chops, potatoes and water $16.40
overpriced!

hasn't lost it's touch. i ate here 13 years ago for the first time and still is awesome to this day. where i'm from there isn't much of mexican places that are above sub par. there is like a dozen or more and they are all owned or ran by the same owner. this is what i miss about the dallas area; good mexican food.

tried this place when nearby avila's was closed for remodeling. nice, family atmosphere. highlight of the meal was a bean soup with cilantro. excellent! i'll go again.

good breakfast. when i lived in uptown, this was a regular place to go on sunday mornings. i almost always got the chorizo plate, which had just the right amount of flavor and grease. the tortilla chips have an unusual pecan flavor, and the salsa is decent. unassuming and friendly atmosphere - what a good, cheap tex-mex joint should be.
