absolutely loved it. grade: a-
if you don't have a greek mother, you will after you leave havabite eatery. and she will make absolutely certain that you love your food and that you have plenty of it.
havabite occupies a building that is either old and settled or was designed by tim burton, with a few nontraditional angles to the vertical and horizontal surfaces. it is homey and welcoming on its own but then our waitress came by. eager to answer questions and make recommendations, she was attentive and treated us like family.
grape leaves stuffed with rice and served cold with vinegar and oil made a great appetizer. greek pizza was recommended and did not disappoint. feta, tomatoes, black olives, gyro meat, olive oil, and peppers topped a perfect crust baked in a hearthstone pizza oven, which also cooks most of the other dishes. chicken parmigiana was freshly prepared and featured a flavorful marinara filled with chunks of tomatoes and onions - clearly homemade.
no aspect of this visit was negative - except for the fact that we couldn't try more menu items. thus, there is no question that we will return to havabite eatery - and soon.
