i will say that i didn't care much for the service, but the food was good enough to distract me from my time there. delicious beef short ribs, bulgogi, and pork belly. all you can eat. keep ordering till they kick you out.

we were craving korean bbq and what better spot to do it than in k-town. we waited for what seemed like 30 to 45 minutes, a hoard of hungry people preparing themselves for an all you can eat feast. i didn't fancy the seafood here so we mostly gorged on thin slices of samgyupsal washed down with soju. a true meat sauna. prices were cheap as compared with back home that's for sure.

people of color not welcome. april 12, 2015 -- do not patronize. three women friends of mine, all women of color, were treated rudely while ordering and eating, and before they had finished members of the waitstaff stood around their table, telling them to leave because the restaurant was "closing" -- while other customers continued their meals and new customers (not of color) were being seated.

best korean bbq in los angeles imho. i was invited by my friend to hae jang chon for korean bbq and was just blown away! they've got a much wider array of choices than most korean bbq restaurants i've been to. and i love their kalbi, the marinated short ribs....i just can't believe they include that in their ayce menu. usually kalbi is reserved only for a la carte menus, but not here. i was impressed by the mere fact it's offered as an unlimited item, and also by the flavor and quality of the beef. it easily compares to the quality of a la carte. i will definitely be going back to get my kalbi and brisket on! best korean bbq in my opinion.

hae jang chon is one of the popular all you can eat korean bbq restaurant in koreatown. our server said we were really lucky because we didn't have to wait at all. usually you have to wait 30-40 minutes. we ordered $17.99 ayce per person. you order which items you want from ayce menu, and they'll bring it for you. be sure to not order too much food at once, they'll charge you $15 for any leftover meat. as you can see, the place was full. menu june, 2012 banchan steamed egg at the end, they'll add some rice to left over meat, and make fried rice for you. rating: 4.5 / 5   service: 3.6 / 5 repeat: yes   hae jang chon  3821 w 6th st los angeles, ca 90020 (213) 389-8777 mon-sun 11 am - 2 am http://www.haejangchon.com/new/ http://www.yelp.com/biz/hae-jang-chon-korean-bbq-restaurant-los-angeles

great food and a fantastic experience. this is an all you can eat korean bbq restaurant. so there are a number of kimchi and side items on the table and a large stone grill in the center. you choose your meats, they bring them out raw/marinated and toss them on the grill. we had the bbq marinated pork (which was my favorite), pork shoulder, beef tongue, beef short ribs, and squid. the staff all spoke english and were very helpful to teach us. really a great experience and all you can eat for $17.99 dinner. the only downside was the hour wait in the crowded parking lot.

after extensive research on multiple foodie sites, hae jang chon seemed like a good choice, mentioned multiple times, and had a whopping 19 items on their ayce menu for $17.99. um… sold?

some days, you have to let loose. diets and counting calories don't matter. you shut down your hunger sensors and gorge in a all you can eat meat fest. koreatown has korean bbq restaurant at almost every corner. one of my favorites is hae jang chon on 6th street. they offer some good quality meat and i personally like their selection. this is one of my favorites because of the stone plates that the meat is cooked on. these things are like the iron skillets that get passed down generation to generation. all the meat essence that was cooked before is still on there from past patrons. time after time after time, all that meat essence is still there, and it comes out in the food. the time me and my family went, just like any other night, was a busy one. we waited nearly over an hour, so plan on doing the same. it was particularly loud inside. people were binge eating and drinking - nothing out of the ordinary on a saturday night in koreatown. this is all part of the korean bbq experience.

hae jang chon korean bbq restaurant rocks!. i love this korean bbq restaurant! in all of koreatown los angeles, i'd have to say hae jang chon is the hippest, best korean food restaurant with the tastiest korean bbq for the price. their all you can eat menu is $16.99 and you get a lot more choices of barbecue meats than other kbbq places in los angeles. there are a total of 19 items (actually 21 since you can have marinated or unmarinated beef short rib, which are 2 completely different items, or thin or thick sliced canadian fresh pork belly, again 2 very different items). the quality of the meat is very high, considering it is all you can eat. it is always fresh, melt in your mouth quality, not chewy or tough. by the time i am finished eating all that bbq meat, i wonder if $16.99 can even cover the cost of the meat. it is truly a bargain. hae jang chon is also known for their very popular kimchi fried rice at the end of the all you can eat bbq meal. it is the perfect ending to an already delicious and satisfying meal. if you have never tried out hae jang chon korean bbq, i highly recommend them as it is the korean restaurant with the best value and best atmosphere to hang with your friends and enjoy some of the best korean food anywhere in los angeles.
