great food, you get very large portions and the staff is super helpful in helping you pick out. it's not fancy, but cheap, and everything is freshly made. highly recommend for more adventurous foodies/travellers

my friend, who's lived in the area for a long time, took me to what is considered the most authentic ethiopian restaurant in the city. the consistent crowd there confirms its popularity we found out as we patiently waited to order. my friend and i split the habesha combo one, which was a veggie and meat platter. the food was made quickly in front of us, to which we picked up our tray and found a seat. firstly, i have to say i had some of the best collard greens i've ever had at this restaurant! the spicy potatoes were out of this world! their spicy dal was delicious and more flavorful than other restaurants i've been to. my friend found the meat in her dishes to be good, and she particularly enjoyed the lamb. their sauces were a little salty, but still flavorful. the injera was thick and soaked up most of our leftovers, unlike other restaurants that use thin, flimsy injera. for the quality and portion of the food, habesha deserves high praise!

the first dish to arrive was the special kinche, which consisted of cracked wheat sauteed with herbed butter and a bevy of spices including mitmita. the grains were dotted with fresh tomatoes and chopped onions. the texture of the cracked wheat was fluffi
