all round great find. very pleasant ambiance, great service, delicious food and great prices. what more could you ask? we had the soup and (1/2) sandwich, which for our visit was a delicious lobster bisque and a generous smoked ham and cheese (mozzarella) on a hearty dark rye, a crispy dill pickle spear and fresh made potato chips.

we arrived shortly before one on a friday. the restaurant was packed, but we browsed the attached gift shop a few minutes while waiting to be seated. our food came quickly and we were out by quarter to two.

we went here because of groupon. thanks, groupon. it will be one of our preferred stops.

fancier inside than you would guess from the exterior. glass top tables, real napkins, plush chairs, some tables in their own room, and ornate décor. there is a small gift shop type store attached. some previous comments mentioned a strong aroma – most likely the scented candles in the gift shop. service was good. the food was so-so. the soup of the day was a sausage soup. it was very thick like chili, and it tasted like eating the toppings on a sausage pizza. i couldn't finish the small cup it was served in. the turkey dill sandwich was ok but it did not have much flavor. the turkey appeared fresh cut which was good. the tomatoes were very bland and almost white in color. in the middle of summer when there are so many juicy tomatoes available??? the grilled oaks sandwich was very flavorful although we found it odd that it was served on texas toast. both sandwiches came with a side of spiced potato chips which my husband liked.

will not return. took colleague and her family to dinner last night...physician new to the area. 7 yo did not like the 5 items on the kids menu, so we asked for pasta with alfredo sauce (which is easily made because they offer a seafood alfredo dish). answer- no. ok, so we ask for the $18.00 seafood alfredo, and just hold the crab and shrimp. we expected they'd take off appx. $8.00 since the shrimp and crab are the expensive part of the dinner. when i received the bill, they charged $18.00 for pasta with some alfredo sauce on it, which was the same cost as her mother's full steak dinner. i asked that they reduce the cost of the pasta or provide me with the crab and shrimp (to go) that they withheld from the meal...no. manager: "the chef added extra pasta to make up for the crab and shrimp that was left off." of course that was an unacceptable answer given the inequity of $ value between pasta vs crab/shrimp, so i continued to ask the manager to be reasonable. while all this is going on, the cook in the back is having a tantrum loud enough for me to hear, and for others in the dining room to hear...."if they don't like how we do our menu, they can eat somewhere else." he yelled this at least 3 times. the manager finally gave me the seafood left off of the $18.00 pasta. instead of shopping in the store afterwards, which was the original plan, i paid the $180.00 bill and we left. i hope the owner of the grapevine reads this, because we will take the cooks advice and eat somewhere else. his disrespect, childish tantrum, and unprofessionalism is what will keep not only me away, but the new residents to ledgeview and their 3 children. i'm sure it was worth the $8.00 they were so afraid of losing on a childs meal. very, very disappointing. recommendation: fire the cook, and get a new manager!

cozy atmosphere. nice place to meet and chat. love coming here with my mom for lunch. the strawberry salad is my favorite. i get it with chicken and it has just the right amount of sweet and crunch.

very good and recommended. breakfast toast comes out dry, like that because many times it is over done with butter or margarine.

bring grandma, but leave the kids at home if you know what's good for them. stopped in the other day while in green bay for lunch due to the high reviews on urbanspoon and the listing of "kid friendly". they have free wifi. we had to wait about 15 minutes (on a wednesday) which was fine. they have a shop one can go around (it's a mix of vera bradley, clothing, and furnishings) - the kind of place a grandma would love to browse! we were seated and ordered the spinach dip, which was excellent. we ordered two burgers, a wrap, and my youngest asked for a kids selection (they have nothing on the menu geared towards young kids, but we were told "the chef could make a cheese sandwich, ham & cheese sandwich, or cheese pizza) so she chose pizza. the wait for the food was not long, maybe 15 minutes. the burgers are very big, we could've easily split one. the wrap, likewise, was enormous. the ingredients were fresh, the buns seemed like they were home made or bakery, very fresh. the hamburger meat was a bit bland. the pizza my daughter was served was more like focaccia, no sauce (how can you call it a pizza no sauce- ok, well there was a garlic spread under the cheese...chef, really? for a kid's meal? do you have kids of your own?) and very rubbery, chewy pizza "bread"- it was inedible. the staff was nice to my kids, but "kid friendly" doesn't apply to the food, let me tell you- unless your 8 year old has the palate (and the stomach) of a person four times their age. the waitress removed the "pizza" from the bill and gave her a free piece of cake which was delicious- reminded us a bit of the desserts we've enjoyed in italy. so yee-ha, our child ate cake for lunch- i guess that ranks as "kid friendly" at this establishment. service was extremely spotty, our drinks were empty halfway through the meal and we really didn't see the waitress until near the end of the meal. she did check in with other tables around us, but neglected stopping by even once after the main courses were served. if you're going with kids i'd suggest going somewhere else- unless you just want them to eat dessert. the burgers/sandwiches are too big for little ones to eat, and the "kid's pizza" is a nightmare. but it's the perfect place if you want to bring the ladies, or impress auntie jean from brillion or grandma sally from vero beach. with appetizer, 3 soft drinks, two burgers, a wrap, plus tip, it came out to around $55 (and that's with the pizza removed from the bill and the free dessert). one "$" on urbanspoon- it should be more like two $$- i mean, come on, hamburgers are $9. the dinner menu prices are double that. but hey, while you're waiting you can compare the numbers on the price tags of the light fixtures above the tables and on the furniture next to your chairs. i wasn't sure if i was eating in a furniture gallery or a restaurant. we really wanted to enjoy it, but sadly i'm going to let this experience die on the vine.

the salmon was prepared very well, a bit crispy on the outside and warm and juicy in the middle. it came with a soft piece of bread and butter as well as fresh grapes, which was a pleasant surprise. it was delicious and the overall environment of the cafe was unforgettable. if you are in the green bay area, it is definitely worth checking out.

if you’ve ever wanted to pretend you lived in a furniture store, green bay’s grapevine cafe will take you one step closer to that dream. this is a furniture store where you can pull up a chair and eat breakfast at their table (for sale) while gazing at pictures on the wall (and their price tags). it’s a little odd and also, a little schizophrenic with the decor. the thing i like most about the grapevine cafe in green bay is that the place is a little bit like a maze. there are private cubbies and little nooks and crannies where tables are stashed here and there. the place could be half full but you still won’t be subjected to  overhearing another table’s conversations. it’s actually quite nice. foodwise, it’s a solid three stars. the menu is a little sparse but it’s definitely two steps above the typical greasy spoon breakfast that is common in green bay. i’ve had a mushroom/spinach/cheese omelet once which was very wonderful and the other time i tried the seafood eggs
