last saturday 8/19 o stopped at your store in portage to pick up a small pie for my sister who had just gone into hospice care. i told the young man it might be the last one that she’d ever have. he was very supportive, told me he was caring for his mom, and offered me a supportive hug. it made me feel better. thank you for hiring such nice employees.

drove past this place quite a few times and was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance and delicious food. i ordered the mediterranean veggie quiche and the crust was golden brown and flaky, it came with a house salad, bread, pumpkin bread and pie. i feel like a glutton because i greedily ate everything! will definitely come back!

delicious alternative to panera. we had tasty sandwiches, soups, and a first-rate pasty. french dip, blt, tuna salad, tomato bisque and cream of broccoli all good. sweets are of course outstanding - love the cherry pie, especially.

i love that going there only a few times, tess remembers my name and what i want for breakfast! the food is fab and the employee act like family. such a homey place to go. great for morning meetings.
dutch apple pie. crumb apple pie , sweet and crunchy and great w/ a scoop of vanilla ice cream

a bit disappointed. went there for lunch. no gluten free bread left (and this was at noon, not 2 o'clock), ended up with a salad which was what i really did not want when i went there. would have loved to try a sandwich, but not sure if i will waste my time again to find out. why advertise gluten free if you are not going to have it?

is it wrong to say that the only really good thing that comes from here are the pies? it takes too long to order so don't bother going in when you have a 30 minute lunch. the tuna had dill in it and i wasn't a fan, but man do i love their pies. i have a love hate relationship with them and we only started dating a few weeks ago. if you want better food from this place, go to the grand rapids location. for some reason it's better.

blah!. came for late lunch. only one person taking orders, who also had to make coffee drinks, serve pie and take money. soup/sandwich combo was expensive, sandwich fell apart, soup was tepid. other meals at the table were bland and overpriced. no silverware for meal so we were given plastic. coffee pots were empty (3 out of 4) and the people behind the counter ignored us when we returned the pots. we could have let all that slide if the pie had been dynamite. i've had better pie from grocery stores. won't be back. it's not as good as panera.

this was the best experience, food wise, that i have had at grand traverse pie company. service had a few issues but they did just open and the issues were typical growing pains. it’s a little frustrating, but expected when something new comes to town. hopefully next time they will have my cheesecake.
