went this past thursday evening for fish and chips food was good but service was terrible. the bus boy gave us better service than the waitress which is why we gave him the better tip. she only showed to take the order and pick up the check. mgr needs to watch staff and see who is doing the best job especially when it is slow like it was that night.

definitely sit on the roof to see the ocean while you eat. fish tacos and golden lion burger were good. waitresses seemed frazzled by the amount of people that were there. manager greeted us at our table and when we left. i thought the plastic cup my beer was served in was too small.

excellent beach side place!! i had fish and chips - fantastic and wonderful portion. 3 large, flaky, perfectly battered filets! the fries are to dye for. all for $14.00. sit upstairs on the open air deck - great view of the ocean. enjoy!!

hasn't been reviewed for a while and can see why. apart from being across road from beach not much else going for it. felt dirty and tacky... smoking wax allowed in the middle of the outside seating area and also outside along beach front prime realestate set aside for smokers dissapointing...fish was nice hence the 2.5 grading,but for poor service and crappy surroundings try somewhere else.
actually waiter on opposite table appeared to be onto it but ours wasn't. ..

golden lion is excellent. a great atmosphere and view of the water, particularly if you sit upstairs. ordered the coconut shrimp and fries. excellent! the fries here are some of the best i've ever eaten. have also had the fish tacos which were great. the salsa is very chunky and smokey. not my kind of salsa. but you might like it :). definitely hit the gl if you're traveling a1a. a kid friendly joint. my 2yo loved the life music!

fish tacos!. the service leaves something to be desired when they are busy, but the fish tacos are worth it.

best on the beach. what can i say? it's the best food, best bar, best staff....best place for a party. oh, and there's that view! we've been coming here for 10 years and have always had a great experience.....

amazing view + good food. had my first venture to the golden lion cafe today. all i can say it why haven't i been here before? we sat up top and had a table looking over the beach. beautiful. the drinks were good and the fish and chips are truly award winning. best i have had. highly recommend. we'll be back.

great fish & chips!. love the view, the food, and the service. as a bonus, more than the usual tartar and cocktail sauces are available at the tables. yum!

i agree this place is a local favorite.i myself grew up in flagler and would always come here to eat.usually live performances at night.feel free to bust a move lol

a local favorite. i've been visiting the golden lion for over 10 years and love it. it's a local favorite-- always a good place to go for lunch, some drinks and comfort foods. the atmosphere is fantastic, and the staff are like family. if you are looking for a casual, beachside place to enjoy drinks and appetizers with friends, this is your best bet.
