i wouldn't order again. i ordered takeout and when i got home items were missing. not good. i went back to get items and when i got home, my family was completely off the food. we packed it up and i took it back for a refund.

the worst chinese meal ever. i believe the good reviews for this restaurant must be written by the owners (seriously!!). this is the worst chinese restaurant i have ever been to (and i have eaten chinese food all over the world). the meat was processed (not even real pieces of chicken), the noodles were reheated and mushy....need i continue... please do not go here. i read the reviews and took my family here for a birthday meal. huge mistake.....never again !! do yourself a favor and try elsewhere...

delivery. disgusting food. do not order from them. chiw mein was processed chicken with noodles. man was so rude on the phone. even tipped them 5 dollars. gross food bad service

this was the most disgusting thing ive ever seen come from a restaurant in my 29 years on earth. i'm not even sure how this place is allowed to run. it is a health risk to eat from here. i paid 40$ for cat puke that went right in the trash after waiting patiently for 40 mins. i will not be ordering chinese from this restaurant or any other chinese because this ruined it for me. i am disgusted and appalled.

my first time here went so well, i ended up ordering more food to-go, for later. have you tried the schezwan squid yet? you should! parking was free and plentiful. it is a nice homestyle family restaurant.

not the worst chinese food in the world, but not the best either. can be a little greasy. they tend to give good service. delivery times can be a little lengthy though. not too bad though. have eaten here a few times.

i have this 2 stars because i didn't have to cook or do dishes, the lady on the phone was super nice, and the food was fast and hot. it was medium greasy like mall kiosk food, and fairly tasteless. i had to add soy sauce and chow me in gravy to add flavour to the wonton soup, which my daughters described as "tastes like hot water". i had eaten at the actual restaurant a few years ago and the hotpot was great. the memory of that made me call. i should have got my hubby to drive to wilkinson, the restaurant there is the best i've found on the island. my tongue is not sizzling so i must assume there is no msg...if a migraine shows up i'll know otherwise. sad i wasted $60.00. won't be going back and these reviews will remind me.

tried this place out a couple weeks ago as i was craving some spice and hadn't eaten there in over 15 years. the food seemed really greasy in comparison to my fave may gold just down the road. not my top pick for chinese in the area that's for sure.

first time ordering from this restaurant and it will be the last! smells and tastes like burnt grease. my deep fried prawns were tiny and soggy and the pork balls were bland and had barely any sauce. feeling gross and sick after food should never happen.. especially when paying almost $40.00! stay far away.

honestly plain and old tasting american asian food. very chewy, fatty and flavourless. never again will we eat here, which sucks because we live next to it :(

ah, golden lion. pretty decent for chinese food. the quality of the food is good, service is good. although it all tends to be quite heavy, it's a good hangover food!

dissatisfied. i use to order food from here all the time and it was good. it has been awhile since eating there and had take out tonight and it was poor. chowmein was tasteless and sweet and sour pork was dry
the springrolls were vet greasy
the quality of the food has declined and seems to be of poor
it will ne awhile before i will order from there again, hope it improves.

late evening supper with leftovers. well i looked over the online picture menu.
said free delivery if over $28.
well, don't charge for delivery, just like bc ferries,
they hit me with a fuel charge(hidden addon).

also the food is plain tasting n. american made to taste for old people chinese food. no zing.
not ordering from them again.

don't be fooled by the free delivery charge. like bc ferries, they
put against your bill a fuel charge.
hey, golden lion, suck it up. it's the cost of doing business.
i'm not going to order again, and if i do, i will ask for an eating surcharge of $5.

um, not so much..... i ordered mushroom fried rice and got mushroom chow mien. i ordered s&s chicken and got s&s shrimp. i also had to order an extra dish in order to make it to $45 in order to use my visa as i didn't have cash on hand. the extra dish i ordered was lemon chicken and it was tough and super chewy - yuck yuck. waste of $50 hard earned dollars and pretty much inedible. i'd call to complain but can't be bothered...oh well.
