got ourselves some dimsum and we were not disappointed. their hakaw is still as solid as before, as my parents would buy from this place for take out back then.

only thing that irked me were interiors. sure it's a place for big groups but the area we got felt cramped.

this is my ultimate chinese restaurant. it's authentic as it gets. 👍🏽
food: i always end up ordering the same food over and over, only changing the soup flavor once in a while 😊. you can mot go wrong with their beef brisket noodles or beef wanton. i like theor crisp spring rolls! of course the asado siopao closes it all. plus a little shrimp siomai and ribs with tausi and we're all set! try their rich, biiiig bowl of congee if you dont feel like eating noodles.
they are also very popular for their shabu-shabu which is ideal with big groups.
price: shoestring haven. foodie haven! their big bowl of noodles will normally cost about php 190-200 and their dimsum and dumplings about 80-100.
but wait, there's more.
the noodles, dimsum & dumplings go on 40% ever night! it starts at 9 pm until closing (12mn). so you can do your shopping first and then enjoy a sunday feast!
this is one the of the places where you can truly explore without having to worry too much about the price and not sacrificing the taste!
they're staff are all friendly and accommodating.
they have function rooms to accommodate your private gatherings.

after our whole-day christmas shopping, decided to eat near our house. also celebrating my brother's birthday.

i already visited this place before, and i love their authentic asian cuisine.

the restaurant is currently under renovation, so points for comfort will be waived. hehe

ordered the ff:
(please check the menu for the description and price)
plain congee - for the baby! he did not like it since there were large bits of ginger that he can feel and taste. so, not so plain?
fried chicken - perfectly cooked, but not enough for our party. also they served a lot of white meat (not a fan)
special pancit canton - indeed special. served hot!
yang chow fried rice - enough for our table. my nephew liked it!
sliced beef with seasonal vegetable - too pricey! but not enough, though it is really good. the vegetables are fresh and crisp.

the room was too busy. staff was efficient. order was served on time. some of the food items were expensive, or maybe the food serving was just few?

rated 3.5 as my previous experience was better than this one.

been eating here for a while now.

for intimate/small group lunch/dinner: staff: veeery accomodating, especially if you come in early and sobrang konti pa lang ng patrons/customers.

for large group gatherings, they have rooms in their third floor, and a very big floor room in their second floor.

even for large gatherings, the staff are quick, efficient, and polite.

food: the food is yummeeh! sorry. it's chinese food. what can i say? the dishes are not overly salty or sweet. they have huge servings. (unless you have a big appetite, for example, the regular yang chow fried rice and salt and pepper spare ribs can feed 3-4.) but they have a lot on the menu. from those that i've tasted (seafood, chicken, veggies, beef and pork dishes), walang hindi masarap. oh, even their cold cuts taste nice.

they have free desserts right after eating. the only downside is, no free tea. hehe.

parking: they have parking on the street fronting the resto. there is a guard so no worries about the car getting broken into.

major downside/tip: it floods along t.m. kalaw street during the rainy season. do not even attempt to go there na malakas ang ulan. do not.

right along the busy street of tm kalaw is golden fortune. they serve authentic chinese cuisine at affordable price. typical with chinese restaurants they serve fresh seafood. my personal favorite is the crab pot sotanghon. their steamed suahe is also good. they also serve good dimsum. they used to offer discounted dimsum between 9—11am and 3-5pm. not sure if they still do. they have several branches in busy chinatown. it's worth a visit.

if you are looking for good and not so expensive chinese food, then golden fortune will be a great choice for you. they offer a wide selection of dimsum, appetizers, soups, noodles and hotpot soups as well. they actually offer 20% discount on hotpot from 9pm onwards. aside from these, they also offer exotic meats such as crocodile and ostrich meat. i have only tried the ostrich meat which tasted like beef. but i will never have the courage to try the crocodile meat. i don't think i can eat it. my favorite dishes here are the golden fortune special rice with crab on top cooked in clay pot, pipa style beancurd, polonchay seafood soup and steamed suahe. the prices of their lauriat set menus are relatively much lower compared to other more upscale chinese restaurants. but the quality and taste are comparable i must say! so i highly recommend this restaurant.

one of the best hotpot restaurant i have been too... the best dish that i fell in love with is their fried tofu skin.. it is definitely to die for... it is also quite addicting, especially dipping it on the sauce i mixed with bird's eye chili, onion leeks, satay sauce and lots of garlic. of course, the usual hotpot with the satay soup with vegetables and meat. definitely worth every penny! 😎

golden fortune is where we usually celebrate chinese new year. its dishes are comparable to other more popular chinese restaurants. prices are reasonable as well. we always order golden fortune crab rice, steamed suahe, mashed polochay with seafood soup, steamed fish fillet, roasted duck, pipa style beancurd with shredded dried scallop, cha misua, sizzling beef tenderloin, fried spareribs with salt and chili. must-try for me are the golden fortune crab rice, steamed suahe and pipa style beancurd. other dishes were also good. this restaurant also serves ostrich meat and crocodile meat. i've tried the sliced ostrich with leeks and it was really good. meat tasted like beef and it was soft. aside from exotic dishes, they also offer vegetarian dishes.

okay,so my aunt invited us to join her family to dinner here and i was about to decline because i just got home from love desserts and am still full. but she insisted and she was being makulit na so i agreed. judging from the outside, it was just a typical restaurant but i was surprised when i reached the third floor. there were chandeliers everywhere, and the spiral staircase made them look dramatically elegant(okay, exaggerated yun, scratch that part.)

we occupied a room. it was spacious, it can accommodate 40 persons(this time,i'm seriously not exaggerating.) the chairs are comfortably cushioned. and the floor was carpeted so you wouldn't have any problems with your little ones even if they trip themselves.
and we really didn't have any problem with the place, we treated it like home, we made noises, laughed hard, uttered some speeches and other dramatic stuffs, because we had it for ourselves for two hours.

the crews were not that attentive, though i understand because they might be thinking that they have to respect our privacy but still, theyshould be accessible so they can attend to our needs efficiently.

the food was sumptuous. it's not a buffet but they have a lot of dishes to choose from. so basically, you can just go there, walk in and have your cravings satisfied(except for the desserts and sweets, they don;t have that). yeah, when i saw them being served, i was like, 'i'm not full, i'm hungry, so hungry felt like i've never eaten for days!' and my eyes keep on checking what should i eat first and then second and then next and so on.

i'm not really into seafoods(because i'm allergic) but my sister enjoyed it a lot, she even used her hands in eating. she said the cold shrimp salad was good. she had to give it a 3.5. she also loved the crab dish(i don't remember the name, sorry), but just gave it a 3. i loved it, too, not the crab but the mushroom.
she also tried the chicken and loved the sourness slash saltiness slash sweetness of it rolled into one. she kept herself busy with the shrimp the whole time.

personally, i loved their yang chow rice/special fried rice(i don't remember which is which), highly recommended. and i didn't stop eating their sweet and sour fish fillet, and by stop, i meant, i ate them all. i also liked the beef tenderloin, the name speaks of it. tender. lol. and there's this one dish i thought it was patatim, but it turned out it was a bun filling, i loved the sweetness and saltiness of that one.

if you are a vegetarian, the fried fruit salad roll, is your must try.

we had some ube and jelly something for our desserts but there was nothing special about them.
i've had enough from love desserts, so twas okay for me, but my sister was a bit disappointed, i had to remind her, she's on a diet.

they serve canned colas and juices but they also provide glasses and ice buckets for your drinks.

oh, the table's well prepared and the presentations of the food are cool.. and their wi-fi is fast, sorry, i have to mention that. it's for those people like me who liked their food, you know. (if you know what i mean)

golden fortune gave its name justice. it costs fortune, but its taste is golden. (what?)

golden fortune has been a family favorite which is why we dine in the place once in a while. most of the time, we visit the restaurant during promo hours for discounted dimsum dishes. last sunday, we checked out the place once more (particularly in this branch), since we were really craving for some chinese dimsum.

although i would say that i love the quintin paredes branch more (which is now closed), this branch in kalaw didn't disappoint me. in fact, i still enjoyed the siomai, the beancurd roll and the shrimp cakes -- which i all recommend that you try.

most of the dimsum are prices at p48 during promo hours making it lighter on the wallet to try the dimsum dishes. oh, be sure to try the shrimp hakaw at p68 (during promo hours) and p80 (during non-promo hours). golden fortune really gives enough justice to it. you will most likely love it!

anyway, i made a food trip budgeted suggestions in my own blog. you may want to check it out here: http://www.anotsopopularkid.com/2014/02/chinese-dimsum-food-trip-golden-fortune.html
