gold town sushi & korean bbq

tasty food, awesome service. we went during dinner which is not nearly as busy but still steady. the food was good, especially the bulgogi and egg rolls. i would definitely recommend the bulgogi for a first visit. the egg rolls were on the house and the owner/sushi chef was so nice. he helped us order and showed us how to eat the hot pot dish we ordered. the rest of the staff was awesome too, checking on us and just being very friendly.

i am hoping to try a few more dishes but i would definitely recommend going during dinner to get the amazing service experience.

our second stop in this international food plaza came at gold town sushi & korean. we enjoyed a late lunch / early dinner and had most of the place to ourselves. our server was friendly and attentive thou very casual and spending time with staff and customers almost like she was off the clock.

we started with the calamari appetizer. while i enjoyed it they use the thicker, tougher solid tentacle sections instead of the onion ring looking "body" section. the spicy stir-fried squid was tasty. again the squid was a bit chewy but good flavors. the fried rice was very good and it was a large portion matching a slightly high price. the bento box was a nice assortment and large but the sushi was a bit underwhelming. i know sushi is in the name but but i'd go with the korean bbq and dishes and save the sushi for a japanese place.

gold town's vast menu includes bombs... bombs that will rip asunder your guts and make you cry for the heavens.  but you'll gladly swallow every morsel packed with spicy tuna and japanese spicy mayo, because they are magnificent and worth every bit of the pain to come.

lived in hawaii for 5 years, so got a pretty picky taste for fresh fish and sushi.  best sushi in bentonville.  very fresh.  plus the bulgogi is outstanding!  great, friendly service.  you can't go wrong with this place.  highly recommended

um, this place kinda sucks. if you like flourescent lights and gossiping waitstaff.....

first time customer. i had never gone to this restaurant before and was a little lost as to what to order but the staff there were very helpful and kind and answered all of my questions. the restaurant was very clean and had a pleasant atmosphere. when i got my food it was super yummy and made me realize that i will be coming back for more!

good sushi isn't limited to central arkansas.  the northwest part of the state has a surprisingly strong sushi-loving community, and there are several great places to get fresh fish and rice throughout the i-49 corridor. of these, gold town korean bbq in bentonville is my favorite.  tucked into the back corner of an unassuming strip mall at se 14th and j streets, it doesn't look like much.  there's also the whole term korean.  don't worry about it.  you're going to like it. there are lots of options, including a fantastic bulgogi and bi bim bap, but if you're going for sushi, go for lunch.  the sushi lunch special is $10..95, and it's five pieces of nigiri plus your choice of one of ten rolls -- california, crab stick, tuna, white tuna, salmon, red snapper, vegetable, spicy crab, spicy tuna and philadelphia -- and it comes with miso.  for a quick lunch, it's nicely priced and quick. other possibilities include a sashimi lunch and a roll combo -- or you can go for the sushi special for

newly renovated and still tasty!. waited for the renovations to finalize and walked in this week to a brighter, more fast casual atmosphere. the food is still great, especially the korean vegetarian items. love the sundubu, for which they gave me tofu, instead of seafood or meat, but i could taste the meat based / marrow soup. so if you're a strict vegetarian, you can't order the soup, even if it's meatless. try a meatless bi bim bap, cold or hot, and it should work. the cashiers take your order and payment, then give you a numbered card to put on the table stand. servers bring the banchan and entrees to your table. drinks are self serve fountains. the lines can back up to the door during lunch, but goes quickly enough. the menu is on a large, long banner placard behind the order counter, but there are too many items to really see from wherever you are on the order line, until you're almost in front of the counter. it'd be a good idea to put in a corral, parallel to the counter, so folks can have time to review. maybe a laminated lunch menu card, on display stands might also help, since that's when it's busiest. will go back this weekend to see how the flow is during off-peak, and maybe try the bbq grills.

i loved this place!!! the service was great and the korean bbq was great. i do feel like they should give you the option of all you can eat korean bbq to make it more authentic. it was a bit on the pricey side and it wasn't all you can eat. overall it was great food and excellent service.

not happy. waited over 30 minutes to get food after ordering. when the food finally did show up, i was served an item i didn't order on the bento box. the excuse was there was a "new sushi man". service was poor at best. it will be a long time til i go back. there are better paces in town for this type of food.
