gio's italian restaurant

italian at its best. this charming restaurant tucked away in a shopping place is perfect for any occasion. the dining room is intimate with an italian flare. the food is amazing and the staff is even better. our service was impeccable our waiter knew so much about wines, helping us choose one that really complemented our meal.

we tried gio's last night & we were very pleased. both of our entee's were wonderful. eggplant parm was good size & light as a cloud. pasta di mare full of flavor & seafood. house salad & bread very good. great selection of wines. excellent service. we'll be back!

wow. where do i even begin? gio's is extremely mediocre. calamari was over cooked and my pasta sauce tasted like a doctored classico sauce. but that's really not even the cooker. my boyfriend and i decided to visit this establishment on a groupon and informed them of such.. when we paid they informed us they wouldn't accept the groupon on the mobile app. we asked for the number for the owner so we could inform him of how his staff treats their customers. i'm sure he'd love to hear how the manager finds it necessary to swear at paying customers.

great!. you can usually tell by a restaurant's clientele how the food will be. i mean - how often do you see chinese families eating in a chinese restaurant, or in this case, italians enjoying a meal in an italian restaurant?...

we decided to check out gio's for lunch today, and it was a pleasure overhearing the guests at several tables speak italian!

the food did not disappoint - in fact, it was fantastic. my friend had the eggplant parmigiana, and it was to die for - probably the best i've ever had in tampa. it came with a delicious house salad with just the right amount of greens and a fantastic creamy italian (house) dressing. perfect!

i started with a delicious caesar salad, and also had the lasagna. fantastico! the lasagna comes with their "princess sauce" - a tomato cream sauce. awesome! the bread is also delicioso!

service was excellent, and gio's gets a high recommendation. don't miss it! excellente!

authentic. the restaurant was suggested by an italian friend who frequents the place often. i can see why he visits so much. the wine was smooth and accented the meal nicely. the eggplant was cooked in perfect italian style and by my lord the lasagna was amazing. the 10 layered dish was quite possibly the smoothest version of the dish i have ever had. top the meal off with a tiramisu and frank sinatra in the background and you will be left one happy customer

muy bueno!. best authentic italian i've had in tampa; the staff is alive with friendliness, and are true italian service and smiles. (they'll even walk you to your car with an umbrella if it's raining.)

with live piano in the quaint smallish dining area, you get the true feeling of being in a comfortable small italian eatery.

the beef carpaccio is to die for, and every single special and regular dish are top-notch - this is no americanized italian eating, and is worth each and every penny.
