happy hour = heaven. from 4pm-6pm pretty much all booze and sushi is half off. i had a couple of martini's and the autumn of hartford and angry dragon roll (love the originality of the names), and tonnes of bakudan/cali rolls. i had a blast, was one of my highlights of visiting hartford. the decor was amazing, very high end, amazing !!

no longer impressed. i was a huge fan of ginza's and still go to fengs downtown hartford twice a week. i have been going for 5 years and used to traditionally have my birthday parties at the hibachi (15ppl). but all of a sudden my last two bdays i was treated like crap! i went for dinner with my wife and they sat us in the back alone, although the place was emtpy. i asked to sit in the center and they told me it was reserved (at 5pm on a weekday?) i gave them the benefit of the doubt, but it happened again and in a seprate incident the manager was kinda snobbish, so i now eat at sakes in the next plaza over, and the sushi is wayyyy better than ginza! sam the manager really takes care of customers, we get free food without asking and when the sushi chefs (are they chefs?) create new stuff we often get to try it for free (if you sit at the sushi bar). if you like the cold shoulder then go to ginza.

love ginza. we go often for lunch from work as they have quick service. my favorite is the roll b sushi plate. the sushi specials are usually very tasty and inexpensive. the hibachi is your typical stuff. prefer the freshness of their sushi. i love that you can buy ginza sushi at highland park market too! they have a lady making it fresh for you.

i visited ginza for a team lunch and as we were many folks we were given with a small room separately. i tried their edamame which was delicious. in mains i had chicken hibachi with stir fried noodles which was huge in quantity and served with various dips and a miso soup. the items were all very tasty. my team members also tried their sushi and became a fan of the varieties.

amazing and the top place to visit and try some japanese cuisine.
tried the eel and salmon sushi i.e. the angle roll with some miso soup and it was one ultimate lunch and food experience.

the sushi was made perfectly with great mix of flavors. the miso soup at the start lifted the pallet.
other good part is the options where one can choose a sushi, a side and soup. the side chicken tempura with lettuce leaves was decent.

a must visit place for sushi lovers and do try there special sushi’s which are a must try.

not returning, ever. 4/26/2015
i decided to go to ginza in bloomfield, ct to have a special birthday meal. i was excited that they had chilean sea bass on the menu as it is a particular favorite of mine. once the meal was served and i had my first bite was in my mouth, my waiter approached me with a question. between his soft voice and the loud music, i really couldn’t understand what he was asking. i finally figured out that he was asking if everything was ok. i had my meal, but hadn’t even gotten to enjoy my first bite due to his interruption, so i guess, for just having been served my meal, everything was ok, so i said “i guess so.” another couple of bites into the meal let me know that everything was not ok. the fish did not taste like chilean sea bass. it tasted like overcooked plain whitefish – virtually tasteless. being hungry, i ate the bed of vegetables the fish had been on. when i complained to the waiter, he brought over the manager who proceeded to tell me that since i had eaten my meal and had told the waiter that the food was good on my first bite there was nothing he could do for me. he made it quite clear that he really didn’t care if i had enjoyed my meal. so, i ate the rice, paid and left, having paid $27 for basically vegetables and rice. i left 3⁄4 of the fish on the plate as it was inedible. the manager’s attitude was inexcusable and i will not be going there again.

i love this place! i eat here everytime i am in the area visiting relatives (7-10 times a year) and we are always treated very respectfully and the food and service never fail to deliver. the sushi is fresh, delicious and presented beautifully, which should be the norm, but sadly is not at other venues. ginza never fails to make our night out just that much better.

not great, even in a pinch. too fusion, not enough authentic japanese dishes on the menu. for non-sushi items, they didn't even have any donburi or udon dishes. under "classics" they list only teriyaki and a dish with "ginger sauce.". when it came, the $18 shrimp with ginger sauce only had about 6 small (40-50 size) shrimp. although they butterflied them to make them look bigger. the waitress was overly officious and pushy, mistook the word "chicken" for shrimp enough times that i had to spell it out, and kept asking us if we needed a fork. (i'm chinese). the fish in the sushi we did have definitely had seen better days, and the shortrib beef "house favorite" was just odd. at first we thought the meat was spoiled but decided it was just the bizarre marinade (miso and pineapple juice?) that made it taste a bit regurgitated. sad, because we wanted to like it as they very kindly sat us for dinner 15 mins before closing time. but will never return, despite the waitress pushing the "vip" card.
