loved it when it first opened but now..... i would easily take a pass, the food is honestly just "ok" and the service is rather untrained.

service exceptional. we started with cocktails which were made perfectly...the pear martini was juicy and lucious. though the tortilla chips were store bought, the spinach and artichoke dip was creamy, garlicy, and comforting on a cold winter romantic evening. the duck breast on the special was prepared well, and though the side was tasty, it was not risotto. i found the vegetarian choices limiting, and while the eggplant was crunchy and firm, the ricotta filling was tasteless as was the roasted red pepper sauce. what saved the meal was the carrot cake which was as good as my own. the service was exceptional and the ambiance was just perfect for a date night.

great!. after hearing about george and martha's my boyfriend and i strolled in one summer eve of 2009 past....we were immediately seated. impressed with the decor and the fast service, we anticipated the evening.....we were attended to in a classy fashion...my friend ordered a pot roast that was cooked to perfection as well as the vegetables...i had the tuna wasabi encrusted with black sesame seeds. it was great food and the server was wonderful...i loved the atmosphere and will return for sure.....

pleasant surprise. my boyfriend and i had lunch at george and martha's right in downtown morristown because i thought the sign outside was cute, but were hesitant because of the mediocre rating of 63% here. it turned out to be a wonderful surprise! the inside was just as cute as the sign, very clever contemporary americana centered around george and martha washington (big surprise, right?) our server matt was super attentive and nice and it didn't hurt that he looked like a young kevin bacon. the menu for lunch was reasonably priced for the area and it was a selection of new england classics like crab cakes and salads. there was an extensive wine list and 12 beers on draft for $5, which my boyfriend loved. sliders seemed to be a speciality and he got the filet mignon sliders, which he loved, and i got the california burger with avocado and chipotle mayo. my burger was exceptional and tasted totally homemade. both entrees came with awesome waffle fries and coleslaw. we noticed that the bar looked fully stocked and there were special priced dinners during the week ($30 for 2 people...in morristown!) and special drink deals and events almost every night that month like dj's and cheap cocktails. all in all, the service was wonderful, the food was cheap and tasty, and the decor was sweet and clever. i think the rating should be much higher and i plan on going back again.
