i am not one to go to an indian restaurant in a hurry. but my parents were around and i wanted them to take a break from cooking. geet was recommended by a colleague of mine (numerous times) so i decided why not give it a try. it was a tuesday evening, so the place was quiet. i must say, the interior is very stylish and with scents of chilli and cardamom in the air, it feels as if you're walking into an indian person's home.
the waiter was very pleasant. he served us complimentary pappodums and dipping sauces, which i chomped down with delight. we were vegetarians for the day, and i was pleased to see the number of vegetarian dishes on the menu. i always like to judge restaurants by their veg meals. it's so delicate, so you had better get it right.
we chose the veg platter for starters which had samoosa's, onion pakora's which tasted like bhajia (delish), and a sweet potatoe tikki. for mains we chose 2 curries to share; a chickpea, potatoe and cottage cheese curry (think it was called rawal pindi kecholi) and a brinjal, butternut and paneer curry. i preferred the brinjal curry better, maybe because it was richer in flavour. for dessert, light and fluffy gulab jamun in a rosey syrup. very impressive.
i will defintely recommend this to others. can't wait to try the other dishes.
