every time we go we pass a place a called g burger. well we finally stopped at g burger before a show and had ourselves a couple burgers. my wife ordered the cheese burger with bacon and a side of garlic, parmesan fries. i ordered the garlic, spinach burger with a side of fried zucchini. we both got a drink and the total cost of the meal was about $33. a bit pricey for two burgers and side but well worth every penny.   the cheese burger my wife ordered is 100% angus beef with a choice of cheeses, my wife got sharp cheddar, tomatoes, red onions, mixed greens, butter pickles and mayo { although the original burger comes with 1000 island dressing} all served on a high rise bun. my wife added bacon at an extra cost. i snagged a bite of this burger and it was your classic bacon cheese burger. the meat it self was cooked to a perfect medium which le

there comes a time when you turn from a boy to a man. for me, that time was when i ordered an actual meal from mcdonald’s instead of a happy meal. as a kid, the happy meal was the obvious choice. you got your burger and fries with a drink, and a toy to play with right after. after growing up a bit, you looked at all of the grown ups eating big macs, and wished you had one too. deep inside, you wanted to satisfy your hunger for once and opt for the larger meal, but the happy meal toy was just too sweet to pass up. that day you ditched the cheap toy for a big mac was the day you turned into a man, so you thought. 20 odd years later, you discover a new right of passage. the g burger at g burger makes the big mac turn into a kids meal. the burger has 2 of everything virtually, and honestly, it is the largest burger i ever purchased. the list of ingredients go on forever — 1001 sauce (secret sauce), tomato, red onion, teryiaki glazed onions, portobello mushrooms, homemade slaw, grilled pine

this is my title.. many of my friends were trying to figure exactly what it was that the g stood for in the name of the restaurant. perhaps, g was what the owner called his grandmother, and the burgers we were eating was a recipe of his family passed down from generation to generation. or maybe an outreach to appeal to the spirituality of those seeking a deeper meaning, in which the g would be godly. but it was all a spectacle until i held my first g burger and bit into it. what at first i mocked as just a burger cook wearing what i would consider a fine chef's garments instantly began to make sense. as each ingredient of the burger start to flow together to make a beautiful portrait of what is without a doubt art. in that one bite i understood that the g meant so much more than just one meaning, but held within its grasps so many open avenues. the g represents how grateful i was that i had an annoying friend who was willing to talk about it to the extent that i went to shut him up. the taste in my mouth was glorious (giggity). i then realized that the man wearing the chef's garment was not just a cook, but instead a gangster. not one who wears his dungarees half past his ankles, or carries a heater through the streets. but a classy 1930's man with a suit and a fedora. one who was given plenty of respect but also gave respect. i tip my hat to both the food and the atmosphere of this fairly new establishment they call g burger. i shall go and pass on the glories of what i have witnessed.

i know i have been neglecting some of you. i know i claim to be, "eating my way through oc", but i have let some of you down. i have missed entire cities in my quest to find the best food our county has to offer. really? i have never been to a restaurant in brea, but have been to 2 restaurants in aliso viejo? that just does not seem right. i have been to zero places in los alamitos, but have been to 16 places in laguna hills! ugh, this stops now. there are 34 cities in our great county, and i pledge that i will have reviewed at least one in every one of them as soon as possible. so lets get to it. la habra, you are up first. our first la habra joint is the well reviewed g burger. i read about g burger in the oc weekly, oc register and one of my favorite blogs, eat in oc . this place is known for their great burgers, which have been called the best oc has to offer. we arrived at lunchtime, just as a cop was getting on his motorcycle to

mrs. dangarion and i are always up for a great burger, so when the day after christmas came and we ran around orange county looking for deals on christmas stuff for next year we became famished. with the lack of sustenance i suggested we check out this burger place i've seen advertised in oc weekly called g burger in la habra. if you have ever seen their ad it's the one where the burger looks over the top and has a knife stuck in it. like the picture here that i took from their website. the official g burger (picture from their website!) what you see above is the official "g burger" $14 gets you a burger made any way you like it; what i saw was basically people get two 1/2# patties with the works on top of it (teriyaki glazed onions, or mushrooms, homemade cole slaw, grilled pineapple, fried egg, pastrami, avocado, homemade chili, applewood smoke bacon). well worth $14 when you consider the amount of stuff you are getting on top of it. the mrs. and i weren't that hungry so we just sett

ggggggggreat!. the review of absolutelani is obviously a one from a nearby competitor. everything this person wrote is exactly the opposite, because g burger, for me is through the roof good on every level; from the warm and welcoming attitude of the proprietor, who clearly is out to please you, his customer on every level to the food, which is incomparable to any burger in north orange county.

g burger isn't your normal la habra, let alone orange county burger place. the ingredients that go into each burger are fresh and of a quality, yet affordable to the point that you don't know how this place is going to do it--bringing gourmet burgers at a price that is more comparable to fast food. (if you ordered this burger in a restaurant like father's office or the counter in west la, you would be paying at least 40% more. guess what? the burger is better!)

that uncooked bacon that absolutelani reported was applewood smoked bacon, and the three times i have had it now on my burger (that's right, i've gone back three times in the first week of this place's existance, and brought friends with me who enjoyed it just the same) was perfectly cooked, flavorful and crisp enough that the bacon wasn't burnt. it complimented that hand ground angus beef pattie that seemingly plumps up in size when it is cooked over what seems like a low-flame--which is the way all charbroiled burgers should be cooked--not burnt!

i highly recommend the g "animal style" fries not just because how they are served in their rather deep and pleasing red bowl, its just enough to be not too much to offset that fresh bacon, sautéed onion, cheese and homemade 1000 island dressing. my mouth is watering right now!

i heartily suggest g burger and see for yourself, despite that one scathing review. i can only hope g burger succeeds in this economy--the only downside, next to location in meager la habra, a town in which i have resided for 30 years.

amazing!!!!!. firstly, i am extatic that finally a restaurant like this has come to la habra, ca. this is the best burger i have ever eaten. the service was impeccable and the staff was so friendly. the food overall, was truly mouth watering. i ordered the g burger "any way you like it!" and was so worth it. i got to choose whatever topping i wanted and literally the burger was a mile high and absolutely delicious. it is so obvious that the owner oversees every burger as if it is his baby. i'm at the point now, that i crave their food and i am there twice a day! i strongly recommend you try this place for yourself. you will not regret it, believe me. :-)

disappointed. i saw this place and thought that it would be a great place to try. i love burgers...who doesn't. it was about 7:00pm on a thursday when i went in. it wasn't crowded, but it was steady. the owner and his assistant were working at a feverish pace. i think they were the only two there. the owner told the girl ahead of me they had been opened for four days. he told the next guy they had been opened for five days... hmmm...

so, i decided to order the bacon burger. with everything. well, needless to say, everything wasn't on the burger.

while i was waiting, (and it was a very long wait) there were two men that walked in. you could clearly tell no one wanted to wait on these men. the owner asked his assistant at least twice if he had helped the customers. after the assistant said, "no", the owner did everything he could to delay taking thier order. then rather than just taking their order, the ower went to have a conversation with a couple that was eating. he bent over backwards for them. it took almost 5-10 minutes for the two men to have their order to be taken. another guy walked in behind the two men and the owner was about to help him but he realized he was stuck for serving the two men first. it was obvious that he didn't want to wait on the two, but who knows why? when the next guy ordered his burger got a free drink....i didn't get a free drink!

so i finally got my burger and the bacon would have been great, except it wasn't cooked all the way. chewy, raw, fatty bacon, blah. the angus beef patty would've been great as well, except it wasn't seasoned. it was charred/burned on the outside and a little too rare on the inside. (they were really rushing) i asked for some mayo for my burger and i got a big glob of mayo that overwhelmed the burger and disintegrated the bun. there was this glob of potato salad or something that was placed next to the burger along with a slice of pickle skin in the box....which i didn't understand. i asked for mushrooms and grilled onions which never made it on the burger.

overall, i was disappointed. my service wasn't necessarily good or bad, but the service wasn't equal either which bothered me for a brand new buisness. i would think you would bend over backwards for all your customers. the food lacked luster, but maybe in time, it will live to up to it's potential. they've got the right idea, they just have to refine their business.

would i rush to go back? not anytime soon. maybe when the dust settles of this place being so new. maybe when the owner changes his attitude.
