fugu sushi

oh man, this place is soo good !! i recently moved to the neighborhood and was looking for the sushi place. i visited this place for dinner.
the ambiance is awesome with ample seating space. 
we had california roll (as usual), angel smile roll & godzilla roll. the food was great, so was the service. would keep on tasting the new ones over here.

while the food was fair (average for sushi), i found their service to be seriously lacking. also, one particular roll could not be picked up without falling completely apart - it was very tasty, but could not be eaten except as a pile of slop, essentially.

amazing food. this is the best asian cuisine i've been to in ohio, and i grew up in new york city and visited chinatown quite often growing up as well as studied a semester in japan!!! the fish is always fresh and the service is always friendly. love it!!

good sushi. this is solid sushi for the east side of columbus! the fried calamari for an appetizer is tasty. we had some common simple rolls and two specialty rolls. the food was very good. service was fast! i have since returned three other times. yum!

tad pai, hawaiian roll and king lobster roll amazing! green tea ice cream a must!

delicious! appetizers aren't anything special but the sushi is great. the pink lady makes the trip worth while every time!

highly recommend! great experience! my daughter (who spent a semester in the far east ) & i had no complaints,only fresh,fresh sushi,sashimi, seaweed salad, shumai and teriyaki. i've eaten at a lot of sushi restaurants in a lot of places, including san diego. this was a great little neighborhood sushi restaurant. will definitely be back.

worst experience. my son and i went there for lunch and they served us spoiled squid. the smell reeked from the sauce and when i took a bite my tongue got numb. i asked her the waitress jenny to remove it from my bill . she then began to tell me i had to pay for it anyway. she never offered me an alternative. i said no i am not paying for a meal that is distasteful and rotten. i will pay for the other items but the ginger squid no. she then called the police and the advised me to pay for the entire bill and that if the resturaunt prepared it...i had to ay for it. i wouldn't advise anyone to frequent this restaurant . if you are unhappy with rotten food you have to take it with you and pay for it.

awesome sushi / tempura. i went for lunch today and this is my 5th time going to fugu. as always, excellent service... fresh sushi... and super crispy tempura shrimp! i have tried other japanese restaurants in the columbus area and have yet to find one better. i've tried various sushi, the tempura, teriyaki and all are top notch. it is consistenly awesome.

good. very delicious sushi, it is very fresh, the service is very good, i must take a lot of friends to enjoy such good food

good & bad.... in the area visiting and craving sushi, we stopped by this place after looking online for japanese/sushi options in the area. we are glad we did.

the good:
* their small sushi rolls are a comparable price to all other sushi places... for rolls like the philadelphia roll or the california roll.
* the sushi rice was done and well seasoned. it wasn't too sticky or to loose.
* the fish tasted fresh.
* the fried cheesecake for dessert was sooooo goood. even if you don't like sushi, it is worth the visit just for the cheesecake!

the bad:
* soda from a can :(
* the fancy rolls are more than double the simple rolls. most of them were $10 and over with many of them being 12+. it makes it hard to justify that much for a sushi roll when you can get 2 smaller rolls for less than the price of one fancy roll.

if we are in the area again, we'll visit this location again... if nothing else for the cheesecake!

don't know how it is 95%! my friend recommended that place but i was so disappointed. sushi took sooo long and didn't taste very good and fresh unfortunately(( i am sad to say it though because the staff was very nice and gave us a free appetizer. but i still wouldn't go back. no no no. try eastern palace on livingston rd. not very far and satisfaction is guaranteed!!!

not sure where 95% is coming from. bad! soft shell crab appetizer was greasy and not fresh. tom yum soup was miss mash of flavors and overload of kelp. tempura ok rolls ok but small. won't be back

the listed price range is way overestimated. most entrees are under 10 bucks, which makes their delicious sushi and entrees an exceptional value. it's a small hole in the wall on the corner of a strip mall, but it is very clean and tastefully laid out, with friendly service. they remember you too! the food itself is on par if not surpassing the bigger older places like otani. the shrimp tempura rolls and eel and avocado rolls are the best in town. i can say that, as i've eaten at every sushi place in the greater columbus area. ;) the pad thai is good.back to the price - we pigged out on 6 rolls carryout once - less than 30 bucks! it's not a place you would want to bring your prom date to, but if you want awesome sushi on the cheap on the east side, this is your go-to place!

this place is the bomb!!!! in an excellent way! i walked in about 40 mins after their closing time and they allowed me to still place a huge order to go so my date and i could sneak it into the movie! nothing better than sushi for popcorn. they also gave us drinks and got the food to us in under 15 mins! highly recomend fu fu for life!
