finally got a chance to sample their food truck when it was in the area. i tried the standard all beef natural casing dog with the spicy brown mustard. the hot dog was very good with a nice snap. brown mustard tasty as well. served on a potato bun. definitely will try something else in the future.

not our favorite. skimpy on toppings as well... if i pay $2 extra on my already $4 hot dog i'd like for it to be overflowing with coleslaw, not a little dollop.

poor service. i wish i could base this review on the food, but i can't. i never even got to try it. while attending the hay day/green festival at hartwood acres, we got in line to get some hot dogs. an hour later, after only moving about 5 feet, we left. how hard can it be to cook hot dogs? that's what you do. there is a very limited menu, so such a delay is just poor planning and execution.

. . . food truck poutine . . .. the poutine was good, but not as good as the poutine that you can get in the franktuary restaurant (in lawrenceville, which is excellent in my opinion). but i still liked it . . . and they give you some unusual wooden forks, which seem pretty environmentally responsible, but they are hard to use, and kind of make a mess . . .

next time i see this truck, i'm gonna have me a "locavore" dog . . . they looked good!

how many different ways can you dress a hot dog? well, franktuary can tell you, start with several different types than take a spin from there. i like the variety, the uniqueness, what i didn't like was that none of the food came out super hot.

regardless, if you are looking for a different spin on a good 'ol american hotdog, stop by here and enjoy.

poutine?. very, very bland. bland cheese, bland vegan gravy, and average fries. no salt packets at the truck, had to borrow the salt container from them. at least they were open on time. most of the others at food truck friday were not.

ever since pittsburgh's first restaurant week, i'd been hearing about franktuary and their delicious offerings {no pun intended} at their location downtown. it was on my list of places to try, but it jumped the line quickly when i saw the truck in the parking lot of goodwill.

if you're looking for good fries, the franktuary truck's got it. but just know that this isn't the same as the poutine you might find in canada.
