no low quality chain pizza here. located towards the end of frankstown road, this small, unassuming building houses what is likely the best pizza in the area (honestly, there are too many to try). you can smell the wood burning and pizzas cooking as you drive by and it tastes as good as it smells. i’ve had the pizza bianco multiple times and each time it has been quite good. outside of some burned patches of crust or too dry arugula (both of which are bound to happen in a wood fired oven), i really haven’t found anything to complain about as the pizzas have the right amount of cheese and toppings and good ratio to the light and soft crust. at $7.50 for a 12” pizza you’re getting good quality and easily enough for one person. they’re quick with the orders, ranging from 15 minutes to 45 at peak times. they do have some deli meats and subs but honestly i can’t pass up the pizza when i order.
this place isn’t your basic chain pizza shop looking to deliver a cheap product quickly and using special crusts/toppings to draw you in; they let their quality speak for them. the ingredients are fresh and although you have to pick it up yourself and pay with cash only, it is well worth those inconveniences (whatever severity you deem them to be) to get a far better tasting pizza.
