franco's restaurant & catering

first time to franco's resturant. looking forward to some good southern cooking! i ordered the catfish. my fiancé ordered ribs. we dined in. 45 min later my catfish still had not been delivered to our table. my fiancé finished his meal, i am still waiting. went to ask for a refund , as we were now both ready to leave. they did give us a refund on the catfish dinner, and let us keep the meal that was conveniently being made as we were getting our refund. got to car, wanted to taste the fish while hot. must say the fish was excellent . but, not worth a 45 min wait for. we will not be back.

best catfish in town. true down home cooking and down home friendly service. just like grandma use to cook. thanks for making me feel at home.

food always good but the experience???. how i long for the days of the old jay's restaurant spacious seating. anyone from louisville will know what i mean. franco's (the new jay's) is just limited to say the least in it's potential to serve the public. a line in the middle of the restaurant people gawking at you like you are alien but ultimately franco's serves up some of the best fried fish i have ever tasted. i limit my visits because the prices have gone up and there are too many other alternatives that are just as good in some areas if not better! all in all, franco's serves some good food and if you go on odd or off hours you just might be able to skip the line. avoid sundays whatever you do!

the best food in the city. tnwell01's review was a disappointment.i know for a fact that this is the best restaurant in this city.i have been a customer for over 35 years and never have had a problem.i have been to all the locations that they have been and the food is always excellent.i am on a fixed income,but will budget my money to eat at least 4 times a month at franco's. usually i get 2 or 3 plates to last me for a week(i am not a heavy eater).so pay no attention to the negatives,try it out for yourself,you'll see what i mean.and whatever you do,do not forget the peach cobbler.

sunday diner. the best food in the 502-i took my mother who stated "this is the best meal i have had since my mother passed!" out of this world! staff was wonderful-the greens were the best on dixie by far!! smothered pork chop-thunder ; ) will def become a regular!!

fried catfish. some of the best fried catfish i've had. no tartar sauce needed.

wonderful food. i love the baked chicken and dressing, yams and mac and cheese. the cherry and peach cobblers are wonderful and the lemonade is great. good atmosphere and quick service. kudos to franco's

a terrible experience. after reflecting on the many states and countries i have traveled to as a journalist and restaurant reviewer, i have to admit that franco's restaurant and catering is one of the worst restaurants i have experienced.

the service was extremely terrible. the manager who is usually there is very rude and disrespectful to his customers. furthermore, soul food should come from the soul of a humble person who cares about his/her craft and the people who pursue his/her craft.

the food is very greasy and full of salt/sodium. the serving size is terrible!!! even a famous comedian who visited kentucky joked about the serving size at the restaurant. they give you one spoon full of your side dish in a very small bowl. the expense is too high for the amount of food they provide for the paying customer.

ultimately, if you are looking for "soul food" with a great atmosphere that represents true southern hospitality and complete humbleness, the food and service that this restaurant has to offer is beneath you. travel elsewhere. you deserve a more rewarding experience.

banco on franco's. great food, atmosphere and great price. we dined in and i went back a second time and got food to take home. my wife looked at me crazy when i started licking the gravy off of the smothered chops. catfish is what i took home to save for dinner, needless to say it didn't make it past the first 15 minutes from when we entered the house. awesome soooouuuullll food, wish they were in radcliff too.

great chicken, greens and mashed potatoes. the iced tea was nasty though.

best fish sandwich/dinner in land of many good ones. the perch is cooked fresh order, a generous portion, light yet crispy and satisfying. delicious! all thes vegetables (collard, green beans, real mashed potatoes) i have tried have been scrumptious, nicely seasoned and taste very freshly prepared. great cornbread muffin. i highly recommend this very friendly and courteous restaurant. always bustling with business when i have been there. comfortable booths and tables to eat in.

the staff is courtesy, and the food is delicous i would recommend this resturant as the best soul food in town.
