interesting exerted from deliveroo based on positive reviews from in-house diners, but the take it experience was terrible. my margarita was undercooked (raw in the center and under baked crust) cold and the toppings had slipped off. i’ll be the first to admit that some of the best pizzas don’t travel well, they should be eaten fresh out of the pizza oven, however, for me what was so disappointing was the lack of effort / care / pride taken in making good pizza. it really was so sloppy. such a shame!

delicious. i have been here a few times for lunch and each time it has been lovely. it is a very busy little spot. i had a sandwich and it was delicious and a decent size portion. the menu sets out the dishes that contain gluten etc which is very handy.

forno is the best place for having a breakfast brunch.
i love pancakes so, first thing which i ordered was pancakes and in the sides i ordered rocket and parmesan salad.

both were absolutely delicious.

oh bottomless brunch. such has you ruined my sunday.

lovely open space that has recently migrated to byob. had a delicious avocado smash salad that could have done with a second egg, but otherwise tasty. bottomless really lived up to its label and made for a less productive sunday than one would have hoped...! friends had the eggs benedict which "could have done better with their gf options" and eggs memen which looked quite hearty and got no complaints so many belinis.... pizza looked tempting alright and would have worked halfway through the belini onslaught!!

went to forno with my dad for lunch, it's his local eatery and he'd spoken highly of it so i was excited to pop along!

the space is lovely, well lit and airy. the service is friendly and the food is pretty decent. he had the daily special pasta and i had a super food salad. while nothing jumped out as amazing, nothing sank into the "bad" range.

solid and consistent

i went to forno today for brunch with my work colleges. i ordered the bacon bap with ballymaloe relish. the bap was lovely and fresh. it was so soft with almost a sweet taste to it. the rashers were cooked just how i like them and were so salty. i think this would be the perfect hangover cure. i also got a cappuccino this was in a nice large cup. i sometimes like to add sugar to my coffee but it didn't need it, it was lovely and creamy. for the bap and the cappuccino it only came to €6 i thought this was amazing value.
this is a perfect spot for lunch in donnybrook!

went here on a groupon deal recently. the service was good and the staff were friendly. the restaurant has a lovely decor but i found the temperature a bit chilly! the food was really good value for money especially with the voucher. i had the calamari to start which was very tasty and then had a pizza which although didn't look the tastiest was nice. for an extra ten euro we were able to change from two glasses of free wine to a bottle with the voucher.

tried brunch in forno and i really enjoyed it! it's nicely tucked away in donnybrook and is a big restaurant with lots of seating and lovely decor.

i tired the big breakfast - which was big!! two sausages, two pieces of bacon, two eggs, tomato, mushroom, pudding and bread for only €11. my brunch buddy had the ham hock with poached eggs and hollandaise which tasted really good.

overall service and food was good and they have a great selection of cakes and sweet treats.

i will definitely be returning and very much looking forward to trying out their pizza menu.

i have been here several times for both brunch and dinner. they can be very busy at brunch times over the weekend, but the food is worth the wait. in terms of dinner, their early bird offering is very good value and the portions are decent sized. i would highly recommend trying the brownie - it is heaven (and gluten free - so practically healthy!) they also cater to a wide variety of allergies which is handy!

bakers...was another recent discovery on my grand tour of donnybrook. it doesn't look very large from the outside, but once through the doors, it opens wide up into a bright warehouse-style setting...it has the grocery store vibe that i've seen in other restaurants...the evening menu is a mixture of classic, bistro dishes, which perfectly suits the feeling of a neighbourhood restaurant.

went here with my galpals for a lovely sunday brunch! it was nicely busy so we were very happy we booked in advance!
menu was lovely and varied but a little expensive for what i received. i ordered the eggs and toast with a side of rashers. so i received two poached eggs, 1 medium slice of brown bread for €7 and for two rashers it was €2.50.. it was nice but i would have expected a little more for that price! decor was lovely and bright, will definitely be back but would probably order something a little more substantial next time!

bakers may not look large from the outside, but inside it's a spacious, warehouse-style room with a mixture of tables, booths and high tops. during the daytime, it's a cafe with light meals and coffee, later switching to a dinner menu. the early bird is pretty good value with two courses for €20 before 8pm wed-sat.

on a recent nighttime visit, our starters of pan-fried prawns with harissa oil & pineapple and a tuna niçoise salad were both really good. the mains which followed (duck breast and pan-seared salmon) were both decent, but not quite as good as the starters. the portions however, were substantial, so bakers will definitely appeal to those who like large portions of good, solid cooking. very decent bottle of fresh and fruit house white wine.

final thoughts: a neighbourhood cafe/restaurant which won't let you down.
