flat iron grill

decent, overpriced. we had small plates and drinks for a light weekend supper ... service was decent considering the place was busy (this was saturday night, 7:30-ish) but the food was certainly above market price for the town and nothing very special. drinks were ok, too, parking was ok. just not worth the pricing.

set exactly the right tone for a first "sit down dinner date". excellent food and reasonable prices.

i wish the pricing were better, then my review would be more positive. my fiancé and i both ordered steaks (different cuts) and we both had our meat way overcooked, which is a bummer when you are paying $30 and $40 for steaks. our medium rares were well done-- which was a serious bummer. the asparagus was also very bland on his steak, but my sauce and mushrooms were delicious! the atmosphere was great and the staff was friendly. but pricing and ability to execute on a steak hurts them.

i came to the flat iron grill just a few days ago for the first time with my grandmother. understandably she could not stop talking about the fantastic service we had while we were there. our server andrew showed the aptitude and attitude to give us a great dining experience. i was so impressed by his attention to detail and need to make our dining experience the best it could be. i served at a restaurant for five years so i truly appreciate a good server when i see one. i came again tonight because of the great experience and was so impressed again by the bartender that gave us exceptional service in the bar. great recommendations, great service, and a great experience led me to make this great review. everyone should come to flat iron grill and have the great service i had. not to mention the amazing food! i will definitely be back again.

huge disappointment. flat iron came highly recommended. frankly, it was a
total disappointment. the food was ok, bordering on good, but the service is slow--like glacially slow.

plus, the steak my dining companion ordered medium was not even close. it was cold and raw. garbage i wouldn't serve my dog (although she would probably gobble it up, but hey, she's a dog!)

when you're paying $28 for a steak, the expectation is that it will be cooked correctly. as a courteous dining companion (after all, the idea was to go out to eat together!!), i waited for them to fix my dc's meal. that took 10 minutes, by which time my steak was stone cold.

no apology, no "can we make this up to you." no, "let us re-fire your cold meal." just a "here you go" as they delivered the (still largely undercooked) steak.
right there, you've f'd up my evening and the $100+ i'm dropping on this meal.
what's particularly disappointing is that this evening could have been saved, but it wasn't.

one well timed, "i'm terribly sorry, apps are on us" probably would have done it. but nothing. nada. zip. i got the feeling this happens several times a night.

i worked in the restaurant business years ago, and the owner of my place had a great policy. when something went wrong, instead of comping a meal, she would say "give us another chance," and offered the next meal on the house. . talk about creating a lifetime customer! flatriron missed this opportunity.

i love it! the food is so good, i have yet to find something i don't like. i would recommend this place to anyone anyday!

my wife and i love this place. we eat there at least once a month and every time is better than before. garlic budies, figlets, grilled artichoke and kobe burger are our favorites

would return. had lunch on a weekend. it had a cozy feel when outside is dreary, cold and rainy. sampled several items - enjoyed all. service was outstandingly attentive. definitively worth returning for dinner.

very nice atmosphere for a date night. bbq brisket was really good! fries are great to. our food took a long time to come but the wait staff was very nice. definitely beef focused so probably not best for vegetarians. i will probably go again.

i would rate this place 100%! we had a remarkably good evening last night. excellent martini's by kurt and our table service from danielle was perfect and fun!

my southwestern inflenced ceviche was excellent, her crabcake was a huge hit, served in a filo envelope. the ricotta-stuffed mozzarella was different, but not as different as the paella which is interpreted as more like a risotto - both very good. my wife's flatiron steak was cooked perfectly and very tasty, and we happily shared the salted creme caramel with apples & cinnamon.

we will be back to trek through the rest of the menu!

delicious but poor service. i went here for lunch a few months ago but the service was so poor that i don't think i'll go back. we had a waiter that was, for lack of a better word, snotty. he had attitude from the start and gave us the impression that we weren't wanted there. it took forever for him to take our order and we waited close to 45min for our food! i was late back to work. the grilled steak salad was very tasty, but very small, and i don't have a very large appetite (i usually split meals). i'd rather spend my money elsewhere.

service was worse than terrible. we ordered and we didn't get anything in our table for 45 minutes, no bread, not the appetizer we ordered (which never came btw). the waitress seemed like she didn't want to be there> she must have spent all her time in the kitchen because we rarely saw her even though we were looking for her. it's not like they were that full either (only 3-4 tables on a saturday night).

i never fill in those small paper surveys they sometimes give you in a restaurant. this time i did, i think it must have been the only time i've done it (and i eat out a lot).

it's too bad, because food was actually decent i think. we were so hungry and mad by the time the food actually arrived that we probably devoured it.

try "the yard" cocktail, it was fabulous. i was impressed with the cocktails here, but didn't eat much else except for the ceviche which i thought was tasty.

great feel to the place love the whisky desserts are amazing ! the food was decent flavors are big to me but these flavors are just kind of thrown together service is horrible ! i was shocked at the lack of care these waiters have the bartender was our saving grace ! all in all i do like this place just wish the wait staff was a lot better

good food and service. went there for dinner tonight with my wife and the service was very good and everything we ordered excellent. this is the third time we dine there and overall our experience has been positive. we love the flat iron platter and their baked alaska (not on the menu tonight). the only thing they really need to address is coffee. come on: buy an espresso machine!
