good onion rings.
the pulled pork is great. good flavour. needed a little more bbq sauce.

the mac and cheese wasn’t too good, what you could make with 2 minute mac and cheese, and a microwave.

wait time was huge, the line was ridiculous.

pretty good food for a quick service establishment. they serve a decent pulled pork burger, along with cheesy fries and a huge soda beverage. kids choices seem pretty appealing too. our kids had a chicken drumstick each, along with steamed broccoli and grapes.

the bbq sauces here are killer!  there are 2 sauces available at the condiment bar and they are both great.  i would have liked to take some home with me.  

it was a perfect day to eat outside and we enjoyed the company of the birds who kept coming by to see us.  we had the sampler platter and everything was delicious.  for ribs that were probably reheated they were actually very good.  we also tried the bbq cheese fries.  we covered them in bbq sauce as well and they were great.  i love a good corn bread and theirs was great.  it was moist and a little spicy.

it's not a bad food option if you're looking for something inside of animal kingdom.  i had the pulled pork sandwich and it was much better than i expected.  remember, you're in a park and it's going to be overpriced.  having said that i would choose it again the next time we go.  also, this place has a lot of setting (much of it covered) to get off your feet for awhile while you eat.

surprisingly good quick service dining option at disney animal kingdom. ordered a slab of ribs and couldn't eat all of it. sides were pretty standard. ribs while could tell they were reheated after being cooked and cooled for awhile were still pretty decent. nice bark and seasoning that was present but not overpowering. nice seating area by water to watch birds and people
while eating. negative to the seating is it can be a little ways from where get food and drink refills.

best quick service meal we had during wdw trip. pulled pork sandwich was so good! others had the ribs and chicken and said they were good.

decent, affordable for disney. the ribs were too salty and greasy for my taste, but cooked nice and tender.

we made our rounds at animal kingdom and decided to grab a late lunch before heading out of the park. flametree barbecue is located after the dino land area right before the entrance. brian ordered the ribs and i ordered a salad. brian’s 1/2 slab of st. louis ribs were dry rubbed but nice and tender on the inside. these ribs are smoked in house and are served with slow baked beans and coleslaw ($11.69). i ordered the smoked chicken salad ($9.19), which is served with freshly smoked chicken, mixed greens, carrots, pinto and garbanzo beans, tortilla chips and corn tossed in house-made balsamic vinaigrette and drizzled with chipotle ranch. i enjoyed this salad, it was very hearty and filling. all the items gave the salad great crunch and the chicken was perfectly smoked. i loved the addition of the ranch to punch up the flavours. they also gave us a mickey mouse shaped cookie, just for being there at that time – so cool! it was nice and warm still, chewy and chocolatey. we also ordered dr

one of the things that is really awesome about my blog is that i get to combine two things i really enjoy: the socialization with my friends and food. if you notice, i'll sneak in photos of who i was with at the restaurant because i like being able to include my friends in something that is important to me. it's also cool when i have big life events that i can somehow incorporate into my blog - like my first time at disney! yes, i'm 24 years old, and i had never been to disney (i just turned 24, so i was 23 when i went). that's also a reason for the lack of updates lately. while the rides and shows were amazing, i want to talk a little bit about the food there. we were so busy, so i don't have a ton of notes, but i do want to document it. animal kingdom we went to this park as soon as we got off the plane because it closes earlier than the others. we went straight to the flame tree barbecue , which is a counter-service restaurant. i got a pulled pork sandwich with a side of coleslaw. w

not the best barbecue in disney world (go to whispering canyon cafe if you gave the time), but very good nonetheless.

prices ok. counter ordering, prices were inline with the area. the sandwich are big enough for two people.. lots of seating in shaded areas at tables.

nice bbq. i seem to always enjoy myself here. the bbq sandwich was big enough to split and we also shared the fruit platter with the kiddos. service was good. on a nice weather day this is the place to eat. its about the best in animal kingdom for counter service.
