sunday brunch is an athens institution but sometimes eggs benedict can become boring at the usual places around town. five bar serves the best crab cakes i've had in athens with poached eggs for a morning twist. bengiets are superb with a bourbon apple caramel glaze.

what a great atmosphere! the decor is very eclectic and post modern french with chandeliers all over. it's dark which makes it hard to read the chalkboard menu but makes it very intimate. we ordered several plates off of their menu and was incredibly impressed with their sushi which rivals most places in atlanta. this place is definitely a breath of fresh air in athens and hopefully will have places like last resort, five and ten, and the national revive their menus. love, love, loved it and will be back soon for brunch!!

there are five of each category available every day. five appetizers, five signature cocktails, five sushi rolls, five entrees–you get the picture.

incredible. to only have 5 things on the menu this restaurant sure does offer variety! they have a range of items and the prices are very reasonable--i got a double cheese burger fries and a salad for only 14 dollars. the atmosphere is neat and service was great. i highly suggest it!

say yes to brunch!. cheap mimosas and a tasty menu go far! while it can be a slightly pricey brunch, the shrimp and grits will change your life ;)
dinner is great too.

five bar is worth 5 stars!. sometimes the universe aligns itself and you find the perfect restaurant/vibe for the circumstances. we spent the night in athens on a road trip, and were in the mood for a wind-down with decent food and wine, which is exactly what we got. more than decent food, i would add. some creative culinary thinking went into the the baked avocado we had for a starter (surpisingly good, with shrimp and bacon), and the white chocolate bread pudding we had for dessert (with a crust on top of a custardy pudding, like a creme brulee). the stuffed shrimp and chicken-topped salad in between were well-executed. dark wine bar atmosphere, with an interesting decor of arcade-style colored lights and antique chandeliers (think phantom of the opera carnival ride.) friendly staff and good service, especially from our server, matisse. it appears there are plenty of restaurants to choose from in athens, but glad we chose five bar.

ahhh mazing. some of the sweetest hosts, servers and staff

absolutely mind-blowing-you-could-never-think-of-a-crazier-better-combination in their dishes

i love how a restaurant with a concept to simplify and only have 5 dishes per course makes it even more extremely hard to choose because each one is just beyond incredible

my husband and i went to five bar last saturday night. service was horrendous! waitress didn't know what beer was on draft, didn't know what was in the sushi rolls, and we had to ask her to go check. food was ok but over priced. the restaurant was so dark we could barely read the menu. not a good experience at all. we won't be back.

live jazz brunch? please and thank you. five bar adds something different and special to athens. we tried it on a rainy saturday and were impressed with the $2 mimosas, make-your-own mojito bar, and of course, the food and service. yes, this is one of the more expensive option for brunch in athens, but it's worth it if you are willing to splurge. you may come away having fallen in love with their chicken and waffles, the live jazz (which was not too loud), and well-informed staff who all seemed to be committed to exceptional service. i will go again.

interesting concept but overpriced. none of the dishes we shared excited me and i could not believe how expensive it ended up being, in relation to quality. it is not artisanal gourmet but they are charging artisanal prices. drinks were not great and overpriced, as well. sorry, it just seems like a dressed-up fancier tapas version of applebee's meets red lobster

pricey, but worth every penny. the portions are large and filling. if you only feature 5 appetizers, 5 dinners, 5 cocktails, etc, they better be good. and they really were. especially the stuffed shrimp and white chocolate bread pudding. they also feature a different special every day of the week. we cannot wait to go back!

this is easily one of the best desserts i've ever had. even if you are too full to move, you must give it a try!

i did not like at all. the chicken appetizer was dark chicken meat which was not defined on the menu. i got the burger and it tasted like they took two fast food hamburgers and put on a bun. was so bad i took two bites and yet the waiter somehow did not notice the food on the plate was not being eaten. poor service and food for high prices. would not return.

pricey. had two rolls and a cucumber salad for $27 with tip. not a good value for the money spent. we left hungry. spicy tuna was ok, but not at all spicy. waiter was good but pushy with the bloody mary bar. honestly i don't feel like making my own drink when i go out. food was good for athens but fair for the rest of the world...probably will not return with so many better options available.
