i have been coming to this café for the past two months on a once or twice per week bases, to either work, study, or unwind.
first of all, i must express my joy at finding an english speaking staff in this establishment. it is very rare to find english speaking staff in istanbul much to my surprise and chagrin. to find that not be the case in filbooks instantly made it one of my favourite places.
the café is tastefully decorated with a beautiful balance between muted white and vibrant turquoise, these two colours match wonderfully and add value to the ambiance. the chairs, and sofas are comfortable. and the building, though small, feels quite spacious.
the coffee is divine, and the tea is beautifully flavoured and refreshing, the food however is the shinning star of this place. the chefs do a brilliant job of creating various desserts and treats, and while some are bound to please any sweet tooth, the less sweet options, often fresh, are to die for.
moreover, i love the resident cat of the place, the very interesting books, as well as the good taste in often independent music.
