fezzo's seafood steakhouse and oyster bar

fezzo's and bigpapa. it seems like bigpapa is quite the hypocrite, as a few of his comments about an ex-employee in a few different restaurants makes us believe he has an ownership in the establishments. he also votes very highly on his own, but rates competitors very poorly... also fezzo's is alright and way to overpriced.

unimpressed by the crawfish bisque. the base was too thick and flavorless. too few heads and tail meat. they need to drop this from their menu if that's the best the kitchen can do.

overpriced. decent food high prices. ordered shrimp platter for 26 dollars i was left looking at other dishes ordered at my table the gumbo had room for improvement fried shrimp were good ( hard to mess up) stuffed shrimp okay at best . some other dishes with my party looked good but for the proud pricing i could do better to find another dining option to feed my family of 4 for$120...... not worth the price

food is average at best. portions are small and over priced. service is ok when it isn't a peak eating time. we arrived at 11:15 am to eat an early lunch got pretty good service but we were still there at at noon and our waitress was no where to be found. over 30$ for a lunch for 2 and we weren't full. not in my budget.

we decided to do lunch at fezzo's seafood, steakhouse and oyster bar. fezzo's is one of our favorite places to eat. fezzo's was recently voted in the times of acadiana's "best of" for 2011, the best cajun restaurant & best seafood platter, two years in a row. definitely well deserving of the awards.

first i fine the tables are small. the four person table became quite crowded when our entree's where brought out. the salad had big slabs of lettuce in a little sallow square plate which made it hard to try to cut up the lettuce. the craw fish etouffee was palatable but my baked sweet potato was cold almost like out of the refrigerator. do not intend a repeat visit.

best charbroiled oysters in louisiana!!!!! beating drago’s and acme in new orleans, louisiana with ease. the seafood étouffée and seafood tasso pastas were the best of creole dishes. fezzo’s is true louisiana creole cooking. nothing commercial about it.

great - oysters cooked perfectly. service was very good. parking lot was full so thought there would be a wait but bar area is self seating. will stop here to eat again when traveling through the area.

let me first start out but saying i am a self proclaimed veteran fan of fezzo's. anytime i wanted a delicious meal, fezzo's was the first thing i thought of, in my most recent visit, that was no different. but what i must say is while the food was quite tasty, it was rather pricy considering the meager amount of ribeye i received on my pasta as well as the amount of shrimp in my mothers shrimp festival. not only were portions down, but also my brothers' enchilada was lukewarm at best. the price of their food has only gone up and the quantity has gone down. this is not a slandering of the foods quality, however. it was as good as usual. fezzo's is a prime example of great cajun food and everyone should try it at least once. with all of these things in mind, i say that i would certainly recommend fezzo's but their prices are definitely a concern considering what you pay for. thanks hopefully this review helps someone decide on where to have dinner!

the fried boudin balls are perfect. the corn & crab soup is very rich & thick & perfectly seasoned.
the seafood platter isn't as full as i would have liked.

let's be specific. requested a plain caesar salad on a friday during lent. expecting to get the normal salad minus the chicken. boy was i surprised when she set down a plate of lettuce sprinkled with cheese and the salad dressing on the side. no where to be found were croutons, tomatoes and cucumbers!

over rated and over priced. we ordered raw oysters and they were marble sized. we placed out orders and when salads came there was nothing but ribs like discards of lettuce.
my point is the quality was disappointing but the price was the high. the rib eye steaks were over priced as well

fezzo's. great service and the food is really good. my only issue? no need to use cayenne in every dish. each time we go my toddler can't eat hardly anything on the menu because of the pepper. however aside from that, we love it!

very nice. driving thru and relied on urbanspoon reviews to pick a lunch place for us. glad we did. very new place. large and accommodating. we started with the fried eggplant appetizer. 3 large fried eggplant medallions topped with a creamy shrimp sauce. typical but flavorful. my wife had half of an oyster po-boy. i know, you can get those anywhere in south louisiana, but not everyone knows how to fry oysters right. she said these guys know oysters. i had the roast beef po-boy. boring you say. wrong! this was not the traditional roast beef that we are used to. there was no gravy involved. i was taken aback and thought that i would be disappointed. wrong again. the roast was large slices, flavored superbly and very moist. i was pleasantly surprised. the key to both po-boys was the little dab of mustard on them. great company and a great meal. will be back.
