of all the princes' islands, burgaz is my favorite. i remember the first time i was there..a freezing winter day, the hot freshly made cay sweetened with sugar, and salty, buttery tuzlu kurabiye biscuits completely satisfying. recently i had a piece of milfoy pasta with cherries in lieu of fresh strawberries. the rich sweet cream coupled with the sourness of the cherries and the crispy, flaky layers was superb.
every time i’m on the island i return to this bakery because the quality and service are excellent.
