show stopper. nice beers and loads of big screens. slow service and mediocre food. the show stopper for me is that they systematically serve short measures; for example if you order hoegaarden, it says on the menu that you are ordering a pint (and the bill confirms that you are being charged for a pint) but the drink comes in a 33cl glass, which isn't much more than a half pint. when challenged on this the servers will point out that it is their policy to do this. this is why i don't go there any more.

two thumbs up. one of the better sports pubs around! what more does as guy want in a sports pub? they have it all. the food is pretty good. there are of course some misses, but most of the wait staff will help you with picking the right menu item. outstanding waiters/waitresses. the englander carries more beers than you can possibly imagine. what more do you need at a sports pub? they have good food, 21 televisons, outstanding beer choices, great drinks and did i mention a friendly wait staff (really cute ones--: ) i might add)

excellent. the fish and chips were the best i've ever had, crispy on the outside while the fish was tender and juicy. the beer was also well presented and tasty (not too cold). fantastic!

almost exactly like the pub's we visited in london...the only thing missing was the english accent! food was great, service was great, and they have live music. can't wait to come back with friends.

love the place. best selection of beer at a good price, around $16/pitcher! pastas are amazing being that it's a bar.

amazing selection of beer all on tap. i say one of the beat bars in the east bay by far! staff is great! tons of tv playing every sport so u don't miss anything bug screen tv the plays home games. great place to go ok dates or just have fun

best sports bar in the east bay. i'm not really a sports bar fan.... but the englander has an
awesome variety of beers on tap, and a great atmosphere.
and if you don't like being in the main room where there are
maybe 20 giant screen tv's glaring at you from all directions,
you can go into one of the side rooms. the grub is excellent,
too- bangers and mash!
