bait and switch.. did not honor restaurant.com certificate. reported my open table reservation as cancelled to avoid giving points. prices not the same as on website. the first 2 bottles of wine i requested they were out and up sold me without offering like most fine restaurants to pay the same price. they claim to have low wine prices - cupcake for $30 that is triple the cost at costco. lobster nachos' - where was the lobster - if removed the flakes of lobster would have tasted the same. had to pour own water and wine. people were placing water bottles and wine holder on the floor and on nearby shelves to make room. it wasn't like i cheaped out either - 2 appetizer, 2 entrées, dessert and a bottle of wine. terrible experience.

disappointed. poor service , unattentive, overpriced for service and quality of food. very bland flounder and lobster nachos . will not go back !!

ok, but. food was fair, surrounding are tranquil, service was disinterested.

best food of the four restaurants i visited. a little pricey. wine costs almost the same per glass as it would per glass in a bottle (total wine cost/4 glasses), so you won't save any money by buying the whole bottle. my one gripe is that the buser stood next to me as i finished eating so she could clear my plate. obviously i sped up eating so she wouldn't have to wait long, but that was very rude. never experienced that before.

beautiful setting (definitely request outdoor seating), quiet and somewhat secluded. good service, great food - the crab cake was exceptional. key lime pie was a hit!

i got the diver scallops with risotto. think white on rice. scallops were over cooked and bland. risotto was undercooked. and really heavy.

ela's came highly recommended via online reviews, so we decided to check it out. located right on the water, this cozy, intimate space was the perfect setting for our final family meal in hilton head. i had never had grouper before, so i decided to try their pan-roasted grouper ($29), which came with lobster butter, truffle potato puree, and local baby vegetables. every bite was flavorful and well-seasoned - this was the best dish i had on our trip by far.

“wow !! overpriced and bad lunch!. my friend and i went for lunch and had a chicken salad and the lobster bisque. there was no green in the salad all white romain lettuce, he had one choice for a dressing,horseradish based, he could not finish it. no bread!
i had the bisque( $12.00) no lobster nothing just cornstarch and a hint of sherry? it tasted like cornstarch for the most part. i did not finish it.no bread
a margarita, a glass of wine, bad salad,bad bisque. $42.00. go waste your money and as for the best view in sc per there website. right!

marcia and john. what a wonderful evening with great friends and great food! my appetizer was calamari with 2 sauces, wasabi and ?? wonderful!!!! no tentacles, lightly dusted,fried and meaty. our friends had salads and cleaned their plates! my entree was scallops - 4 big scallops. would i get it again??? yesssssss!! my husband ordered flounder, i had one bite, and ....unbelievable!!!! our friends had swordfish and mahi mahi and loved it! great desserts - cheesecake and key lime pie
service - abby was our server. wish she had come back to freshen up our coffee, but we'll ask for her to serve us next time we go! she was very informative about the dishes! great personality, too!

passed every test. it is located on the 2nd & 3rd floors overlooking the shelter cove marina. it is nicely decorated. the outside dining area was very nice for our drinks and appetizers (focaccia with gorgonzola and lobster nachos). i was unsure about which wine and our wonderful server abby offered me tastes of several to help me decide.
dinner inside was wonderful as we looked out on the lights of the marina and listened to the light music fare of tim malchak (we even bought a cd). abby came through dinner with flying colors. i had one of the specials of the night ; paella which was as good as i've ever had; even from a spanish chef. my fellow diners were gently guided by abby to a swordfish and flounder dishes which were delicious and perfectly cooked. the beef ribs were also good but you have to be ready for a hearty meal. three of us took some home so we could have room for desert; key lime pie, warm pecan pie, and a chocolate mouse. i ate some of all 3. the pastry chef is on par with the executive chef.

fabulous!. this was our first visit to hilton head and ela's and we were quite please with everything. the service was great, the view of the marina was spectacular, and the food was amazing. the pear/arugula salad was lightly dressed and the arugula was nice and fresh. we had no complaints about anything. a must for anyone who enjoys dining at it's best.

i just stopped in at the bar for a beer and a quick app or two before the sunset dolphin cruise that departs just next door in the marina. the place has a nice feel, girgeous views of broad creek, and very friendly and attentive staff. i ordered the shrimp and avacado ceviche and it was not what i expected as far as ceviche goes. there wasn't much avacado and only 3 or 4 shrimp--it was more like salsa with a few shrimp in it. it was tasty but really not a good value for the price in quantity, and it was not really ceviche, and there was hardly any shrimp in it. i also had the lobster bisque, which was tasty. i may have enjoyed this more if i had ordered something beside the ceviche, because i liked the place, the people, and it did taste good, just not a good value on that menu item. i would give it another shot, if i had a chance. there was live music, which was also very good, by the way.

great food dumb guest. although i regularly check reviews of restaurants before and after visiting them, i have never before written one. however having read the "bait and switch" review i have to add my opinion as i am sure the reviewer is the same idiot that did her best to ruin the wonderful dining experience for all others around her. first of all the food. service, views and ambience were amazing. until the "lady?' at the table next to us began to scream, swear, and act in a manner that no normal person would consider acceptable in the privacy of their own home let alone in a restaurant. in fact her obnoxious behaviour go to the point that several guest told her companion that he needed to get her out. while online reviews are a wonderful tool to infrom others of both the pros and cons of an establishment, it is a shame that people who feel it is fine to scream and swear in a restaurant when they don't get their way are allowed to utilize it. ela's provided us with the best food and service we experienced on our visit to hilton head and we will be sure to return on our next visit and encourage everyone else to do the same.

excellent, excellent, excellent. the food was top of the line. the service was wonderful. our waiter, sam, was friendly, knowledgeable, and made great recommendations for food choices. the meal courses were well paced. the live music was an added touch. i am visiting this area, but hope to eat here again before i leave.

gorgeous setting, great food, excellent service. we gave up on another hhi restaurant because of the 1.5 hr. wait and decided to try the first non-chain restaurant we found. great idea! ela's was excellent! our server, francesca, was welcoming, attentive and friendly. the food was perfectly prepared and presented. my flounder with cilantro just about made me swoon. we highly recommend ela's. we'll be back.
