el pollo rico on sunday. run, don't walk to this homey and unpretentious eatery! limited parking available, but we had no trouble finding some sunday at lunchtime. the line was short, as was the menu, but the choices were all winners.
my husband and i split a whole chicken (once you try a bite, you'll know why), and added fries and coleslaw. he is half mexican, and disdains white tableclothed restaurants, so this was perfect for him; about two shades off his mom's kitchen. the jalapeno sauce is tasty, though not very spicy, and the mustard (mayo?) sauce was nice.
i would recommend one of the bottled soda bevs, as the richness of the chicken is pervasive (though not overwhelming).
do yourself a favor, and eat here soon- and often!

whole chicken. perfectly crisp-tender roasted skin nonchalantly covers fall-off-the-bone meat that went to heaven via an enormous rotating spit. breasts so tender you'd think they were steamed.
