el patio restaurant

great place! so far the most authentic mexican food i've had in wichita. the burritos are amazing, the meats are delicious and they compliment perfectly with the beans. friendly staff as well. very cozy place.

great food, great prices! try the beef and pork monterrey- i order mine with extra cheese, easy on the lettuce (if you don't say easy on the lettuce, you get quite a bit of it). delicious. my wife usually gets the ranchero plate- chile verde, rice, beans, and she gets the flour tortillas. she loves it.

i need to try the fried flour tacos. i have been told that they are awesome.

a word to the hot sauce aficionados- their salsa is the thin stuff that comes to your table in squeeze bottles. they bring you a mild bottle, and a hot. the thing to do is to ask for the extra-hot green stuff- but you gotta ask for it, 'cause they won't offer it. good heat, great flavor. i mix like 5 parts extra-hot green stuff to one part of the regular hot, with a few dashes of salt. hot sauce heaven. you're welcome.

update, 6-30-12, food still passable, but last 2 times service has been terrible, got there 5 minutes before a couple pulled up to the front door in a jaguar, guess who got served 1st? guess who didn't get tipped, we are very good tippers and i am ashamed for doing that but it was so obvious they went for who they thought would be a better tipper and put us to the side i hope owners read these plus i live next to the owners brother, i hope they correct this or we won't be back, i said the food was good not the greatest in town

very good, chili relleno was great, there is still hope for mexican cuisine in wichita, try, you will like, portions could be bigger but not bad for the price, one of the best i have tried in wichita

very best. el patio is one of the best authentic mexican restaurants around. great service and good food can't beat that. i've tried a few items on the menu and every dish was really good.

well above average mexican food for wichita. their chicken chimichanga is one of the absolute best i've ever had

have been eating at el patio for many years now and i absolutely love it! it is the best mexican restaurant in town! the food is amazing & the customer service is the best! they are very friendly and will attend to your every need and not to mention, they will have you in and out of there in a jiffy! till this very day i have never had a bad experience while eating there.

used to be excellent.... i have ate at el patio for over 8 years. i will no longer be going there and here is why:

the service has gone downhill recently. it seems like it is ran by teenagers now that could care less about doing their job. last few times i have been they will not refill my drink until you wave your arms and shout at them. several people had to do this while i was there. they always sit at the center table and eat or play with their phones. they act like you are a nuisance and inconvenience when you ask for basic service. it is a shame because i loved this place and used to eat there on a weekly basis. please note that this is based on many recent visits, not just one poor experience.

not anymore. i will miss you el patio! it was good while it lasted.

16 jan since steph had yet another snow day on wednesday i was obligated to bring her along with my friend and i as we went to el patio. el patio is that place on east central that you have probably driven past a hundred times and never noticed it. it is directly to the west of baysinger police supply, but some conveniently located trees block your view most of the time. el patio is also the restaurant that's sign has a giant number 6 beneath it. now i am unaware of their being 5 more el patios in wichita let alone one other, so i'm guessing maybe there was an old motel 6 here and they just decided to recycle the sign. anyway its a good conversation piece. once inside el patio you will find a cozy dining space appropriately decorated with hispanic pictures and drawing. there are about 10 tables in the place so expect a wait when you go over the lunch hour. my friend had beat us there and was holding down a table for us. he had also polished off half a basket of chips so i guess he appr
