i've eaten at the el paraiso for many years and have enjoyed the food and service. however, my family and i went to dinner yesterday and had the worst experience ever. our server was impatient and rude, and didn't listen to the questions i had about a meal i had ordered previously. she strode away and we all had doubts about whether she had heard me correctly. she didn't. she brought out the wrong order. i told her it was the wrong order and she was very surly. i asked her, "am i bothering you?" she shook her head, but still had no patience to listen to what i wanted, so i settled for what my son was having. (note: she spoke english perfectly). suddenly, a very large man walked directly to our table and very loudly began to hammer me with questions about the original dish, even though i had already ordered what my son was having. confused, i clarified which dish i had ordered (which, it turns out was called something different during lunch) and he said he would bring it out. i was fine with it but could tell he was angry. he also said, "now you know. next time, you don't need to...." and pointed to the server and the kitchen, implying that i need not get it wrong next time, bother the waitress and waste their food! a few minutes later, he came out and asked if i wanted to eat it with... chopsticks! (relevant note: i am half korean.) i was shocked. he wasn't smiling. my husband approached him over his racist remark and the man was extremely sarcastic, belligerent and denied any negative connotation. he acted insulted that my husband even mentioned it. he was it 'was a joke'. i asked him if it was because i was asian. he said it was, but it was a joke. he said, "next time, i will see your face (another jab at my looks) and will never, ever joke with you." huh! the conversation turned futile as he accepted no blame whatsoever. the guy claimed to be the manager- i wonder if he is new? in any case, i can't support any restaurant that is racist. that's just my opinion.

i love this place. my family guess there whenever we want good mexican food. the chicken mole is amazing! one of the few places that doesn't make a peanut based mole and i love it. great fresh-off-the-griddle homemade tortillas and the staff is very sweet.

great find. el paraíso was a wonderful surprise. i am american and like ethnic food. when we dined 60% of the guests were latino and the 40% were american. the staff was so welcoming. food was delicious. most food is el savadoiran flare. if you are on the fence and looking for a delicious advenuture el paraiso is the place for you. you will be happy.

nothing like advertised on urbanspoon. i don't know if i dislike el paraiso or am just neutral to the place. i think i was too thrown off by what a difference existed between what i read on urbanspoon and what the reality was like in the actual restaurant. first, the menu that i accessed through urban spoon was completely off. i had planned to order the chimichangas which were advertised as 2 for $7.25, in reality it was one for $9.99. i was interested because i read that another reviewer ordered a half a chicken with sides. when i arrived, i inquired about ordering a whole chicken (to take home for family dinner) and was told they only served 1/4 chicken for $9.99. i thought $40 for a whole chicken was too much and passed. ordered chimichangas and burritos for family. burritos were pretty bland and meat was pretty dry. the place was also extremely hot and uncomfortable which made the long wait for food almost unbearable. i don't think i'll be back anytime soon.

wow. we just recently moved to the area and have been looking for a new mexican food spot. i saw the reviews for el paraiso so we decided to check it out and i am so glad we did! it is a small place in a strip mall but don't let that deter you. it's a very clean restaurant and the small staff is friendly. the food was very fresh, simple and delicious. all 4 of the meals we got were awesome. they also seem to do cakes (for parties, etc) and other baked goods but we were too stuffed from our meals to investigate that. we will definitely be back.

tasty. good quality, lovely looking plates. excellent service. a little overpriced, but if i'm in downtown everett it's a worthwhile stop for a solid mexican meal. save room for the fried ice cream!

i've only had their steak fajitas which are very tasty but a little greasy and maybe too salty. the hubby's had other stuff (can't remember exactly), but he loved it and is very picky about his mexican food (okay, so am i...), but he says it tastes very authentic (good) from his numerous trips to central america. try to go when in town. salsa with the chips is decent but not spectacular, even when starving.

yuck!. i was hoping for something half decent, but was sorely disappointed. only wish i'd read the reviews here before going. my taco came with a hard shell kinda like the trash you get in an old el paso box at your local grocery store. i was quite shocked. i guess the culinary scene in everett is stuck in the 80's which is really sad considering how close it is to seattle.

it wasn't cheap either. $18 for two nasty enchiladas and the single taco bell style taco. at least the modello was good. if you're looking for authentic then give this place a miss, however, if you like your food swimming is molten cheese, sour cream, refried beans, nasty rice, rubbery chicken and a huge dollop of guacamole then this is definitely your domain.

terrible food. i'm surprised that this place is always busy, they must have cheap drinks. their rice & beans are very bland. their chips were stale and the salsa was inedible (too hot, you tasted nothing accept the pepper). i ordered a chicken dish & the chicken was made with the strips you buy in the store that are pre-cooked (you know the kind, they are roughly 3inches long, 1 inch wide & 1/2 inch thick). in all fairness, my visit there was about 3 years ago so perhaps they've changed things since. my experience was so bad however, that i feel compelled to say it now that i have an account here.

the worst restaurant ever!!!!!!!. all around bad. i wanted to go here because they advertise that they have homemade tortillas. they do, but all you get is one at the door. i got tacos thinking "mmmm homemade tortillas". wrong. the tacos were first of all hard tacos (which they didn't mention in the menu). second they were the same kind you get at the grocery store. and the meat was bland, the beans tasted like they came out of a can and the enchilada sauce tasted like raviolis. they asked me how the food was. so i told them i was disappointed. so they fried a tortilla for me instead of pulling another one out of the box. the new tortilla didn't taste like tortilla, it taste like a vat of oil. i lost my appetite. then the manager came out to talk to us. he wouldn't take any blame. it was my fault because of "miscommunication." he dodged the comment about the enchilada sauce. also he didn't offer to compensate anything. i left in tears and with an empty stomach, which i have never done. so if you like food that taste like a can this is the place for you. i should have gone to taco bell. so thirty dollars later i am mad and hungry.
