disappointing experience. visited miami from out of town on 5/27. a co-worked said this was a must visit food stop so we drove 40 minutes for one of the worst food experiences we have had in a very long time. the pork fried rice was cold and the barbequed shredded beef left much to be desired. we hated the seasoning. however, we were more shocked by how rudely we were treated. we felt very unwelcomed and lost trying to navigate the menu. the only saving grace was the fact that the meal was cheap and the plantains were palatable.

we tried the seafood paella, ribs, chicken and rice, fried plantains and cuban sandwich, and fresh coconut water. the only tolerable eats were the coconut water (delicious and freshly husked) and the sandwich (basic). everything else was absolutely horrible and tasteless, and we're an easy group to please. don't waste your time.

not bad the pan con bistec was good.

the bread is crisp, while the meat melts with that cheese to give it a nice texture.

incredible food and snacks! incredibly terrible parking!!

el palacio de los jugos is this great little spot on the corner of flagler and 57th. the outside patio and seating area is way larger than the actual place itself. it's a mix between cafeteria and small grocer, where they sell hot counter food, snacks, grocery, and prepared foods.

the most popular thing though are there limitless amount of juices. from coconut, mango, and mamey to sugar cane, this place really has a variety of choices and a large industrial juicer to make sure they can handle the crowd (and there is a large crowd folks). i get the sugar cane because i just can't get good sugar cane drink anywhere north of miami. if you're in town for a little bit, you've got to opt for that. if you live in miami, then you have to realize how lucky you are.

the second most popular thing? chicharrones. god's gift to cubans is this nice fat slab of pork with the skin on. that skin turns a crispy golden brown and can singlehandedly bring back us-cuban relations to good terms.

i've had the cuban sandwiches here, and though it's not the best sandwich in the world, it's cheap and they've got some damn good bread. the bread is crisp, and crunchy, while the meat melts with that cheese to give it a nice buttery texture.

just a heads up, brush up on your spanish, or you might stumble a bit. the servers are the best. super friendly and all, but don't be alarmed if they don't understand you at first. the service is quick and seating becomes readily available as people tend to just and eat go (most people at least...)

im teling everyone!. we went to the one by krome ave. i was in miami just for the day and needed to cap off the trip with some delicious cuban fare. i sure stumbled upon the right place. so many entree choices and with a combo rice (many varieties) and plaintain are added. huge portion under $10. very informal and slightly chaotic. no prices, no directions lie. order here or pay here and nobody to explain clearly unless you speak spanish. once i muddled through this process and tasted the food, i simply died and went to heaven. wow! i live 4 hours away and am thinking about when i can come back to try something else...

if you want a good meal in miami but you’re on a tight budget, el palacio de los jugos is a must visit. actually, regardless of budget, this latin american food court comes highly recommended.

even though they are known as the palace of juices…this place is more like a cuban/latino street food vendor than just a juice bar. they have seafood, sandwiches, rice, beef, etc. all for sale from the counter stations surrounding the complex. it reminded me of loquillo street food kiosks by the beach in puerto rico. whatever you do, don’t get the frita cuban burger here. as i found out, (should have listened to burger beast first) it was one of the worst renditions of the miami favorite. way too mushy.

best cuban food. my go to place every time i am in miami. the steak sandwich (pan con bistec) is phenomenal, steak is tender and tasty, very generous portion too.
the seafood rice is delicious, big enough serving for two or three to share.
i also love stocking up on peanut bars and other cuban treats. yum!!

nothin' beats fresh juice. seriously, why in the world don't we have something like this in my hometown? the food is silly-cheap, more than you can finish in multiple sittings and knock your socks off good. oh, and did i mention the juice. i could have drank a gallon of the watermelon juice. someone once told me that if you ever have a chance to try fresh made pineapple juice, you will never think about it the same. they were right. at $2 a glass, get several different fruit flavors. you won't be disappointed.

pina coladas are the best. years ago, miami had fruit juice stands every where. the pina coladas here remind me of those days.

the food looks delicious. one day we will have to try it..

a little gem.. dropped in while heading across the everglades. clean, colorful cafeteria-style restaurant and fruit stand. best black beans and rice i've ever had (two bucks). limeade was great. try it.
