i can't say enough nice things about amanda, dana, michael and the rest of the staff! we dined here in april and had a couple snafus, but nothing that i would say was earth-shattering. however, amanda saw to it that our next dinner for two was on the house to make up for any issues! we were floored! our visit last saturday was wonderful! in a time when customer service has taken a back seat to revenue in many establishments on this side of the river, it's refreshing to see an en restaurant place it's patrons above itself. will definitely be back!

this is a great happy hour spot and everything i have sampled has been delicious. i will say that it's pretty pricey if you venture away from happy hour. i would probably not eat or drink here otherwise as your dollar does not go far.

this post might be slightly biased, since eastland cafe has been one of my favorite spots in nashville for the last few years. it is consistently delicious, with the menu changing with the seasons. the staff is always friendly and prompt and the big summer time bonus is the large back patio on those nights that aren't sweltering. add to the fact that this place is right in my neighborhood and that they have the best happy hour in nashville, you can see why its an easy favorite. i am not joking about eastland having the best happy hour in nashville. they have been voted best happy hour in the annual nashville scene "best of nashville" readers pole multiple year in a row. they have a lock on this title, and i haven't seen any real competitors yet. there are fancy martinis for $5, wine for $5, beer for $3 and a whole menu of food where each delicious dish costs only $5.

one of my favorite nicer, low-key, places. the dining room can be noisy when it's busy, but there's a corner seat at the bar that's always perfect.

pretentious. food had absolutely no flavor. service was slow and the price is too expensive. i had the chicken and it was dry and flavorless. shrimp was spongy. shrimp was served over grits w/ mushrooms... not sure about the combo.
would not recommend eastland cafe.
we sat w/ rose pepper staring at us from across the street -- wishing we were there.

bar burger. made-to-order staple made from local beef and vegetables. get it with fries and their smoked ketchup for a plate with which i've never once, even remotely, been disappointed.

the perfect choice!!!!. we came to nashville for our son's wedding in early august, and hosted a rehearsal dinner for 20 the evening before the event. having never been to nashville before, my wife worried about choosing a good restaurant. adding to the pressure, our new in-laws are in the restaurant business.

my wife contacted several prospective restaurants and, fortunately for us, the stars aligned and she found eastland cafe. boy, did henry and his staff ever surpass our expectations. from the first long-distance phone call to the presentation of the check, they were professional, courteous, attentive, and determined to satisfy us and our guests. henry worked with my wife to tailor a full menu that met all of our guests' tastes, and at a very reasonable price. from the appetizers to the main course and some of the best desserts i've ever seen, the chef outdid himself. we had great meals throughout the week we visited nashville, but this was clearly the best of them all. our servers knew the menu and their wine list, and were attentive and good-natured without being intrusive. and our guests raved about the meal. my dinner choice that night, an incredible gulf shrimp dish, even made a grit-eater out of this northern boy, my only complaint is that i ate too much and was too full to finish the apple donuts i ordered for dessert.

if you find yourself in east nashville and hungry for a great meal in a relaxing, welcoming atmosphere, this is definitely the place you want to try. henry, you and your staff are the best, and we can't wait to visit you again!!!!

we liked eastland cafe, but thought the entrees were pretty tiny, especially considering their price. luckily my dad got a massive pizza and hearty salad to share with us all…

very pleased. my wife and i ate at the eastland cafe for our anniversary and were thrilled with the restaurant. our food was outstanding. we had the potstickers, a caprese salad, the duck, the idaho trout, and a peach pie for dessert. everything was extremely good. i especially liked the trout. the potstickers were especially good too and very popular based on the number of plates that we saw come out of the kitchen. additionally, the prices were very reasonable. we got all that plus a few drinks for less than a hundred bucks. we will definitely go back.

rude/okay food - won't be going back. eaten here twice. both times the food was just okay, the hostess was rude, and the service was okay. 2nd time was my last time.

not gluten free friendly!. if you have celiac disease or a gluten sensitivity enjoy the atmosphere, good service, and nice wine list, however do not eat! they are uneducated on the severity of cross contamination and the definition of "gluten free" - they claim to have gf selections but it is just an attempt to remain posh.
