downriver grill

spontaneous lunch out to the north side! heard good things so we went! really quaint place with great outdoor seating amongst the raised gardens! service was excellent and food was great!

great lunch. stopped by for lunch last week. the french dip was simply fabulous. perfectly cooked on texas toast with plentiful meat and cheese.the wife enjoyed the pasta salad. service was good and they poured a nice chardonnay by the glass. if i lived closer i would be here weekly.

i really liked the food there. the shimp bisque was not award winning but the olsobuko was amazing and recomend it to anyone that likes meat.

my wife and i have enjoyed delicious two dinners here with excellent service. today we had the misfortune of trying to enjoy a sunday brunch. my wife's hash was served hot with eggs to order. my identical meal was served lukewarm with cold overcooked eggs - which i sent back!.

it's hard to comprehend a professional kitchen not being able to produce two identical meals, one well prepared and the other with overcooked eggs and served lukewarm. in addition, silverware was not placed on the table and the server did not attend our table to insure we had both condiments and drinks.

while we've never had a bad dining experience, i'll be damned if i'll ever return for another meal!

today, 3-3-19 was the worst dining experience i've ever encountered in any northwestern restaurant!!!!.

i'll never return to be so insulted again!!

i have never had a bad meal here. in fact, all of my meals here have been top notch. might reserve a five star for a five-star restaurant but i gave it five stars because the service has always been impeccable, the atmosphere is great, and the food is always exquisitely done. this time had the chefs special burger and it was the best burger i have ever had. we also had the reuben which i consider one of the finest reubens i have ever had. the summer sangria was exquisite. we have had the osso bucco in the past which you just can't beat. cannot go wrong with your dining experience here.

i've had so many wonderful meals here through the years... the duck, the scallops, the risotto....it's been two and a half years since i've eaten here and i can still remember where i sat and what i ate for almost a dozen meals- it was that good!

had the scallops. unreal. i've always loved seafood and let me tell you, these scallops were some of the best seafood in general that i have ever masticated. 😍🦄

i love this place! great food and great service! the gorgonzola fries are amazing. i recommend that you get them with bacon. their clams are some of the best in town. since we live nearby, my wife and i have tried many of their menu items and have always been happy. recently we tried one of their chicken wraps and were very happy we ordered it. it was delicious! if you don't want a wrap then try their no'li ale mac & cheese. it's incredible!

downriver also offers an incredible breakfast menu. there are so many tasty treats to pick from that you will want to try them all.

one of the most important parts of a restaurant to me is the friendliness of the staff. drg has a wonderful staff that makes you feel welcome. they are kid friendly and very accommodating.

great little gem in the north of spokane. great service, great food, great atmosphere. love adding bacon to the iconic gorganzola fries that they are known for. i recommend the downriver to anyone visiting the area. so good!

downriver grill has always been our place to go for celebrations. we live out of town but need to go to spokane periodically so have gone to drg for birthday celebrations, to celebrate a new job etc. had not been there in awhile because our responsibilities had been closer to the valley but went there today for lunch to celebrate some milestones in our son's life. so disappointing to get there at one o'clock and find we had to have brunch. i had even looked at the menu to see what they offered for lunch since we hadn't been there in awhile. they do not make it obvious that you have to have brunch before 2 on weekends. we were very disappointed, had already had breakfast and were looking forward to a festive, celebratory lunch and had talked this place up to our son's girlfriend, since she had never been there. only four mediocre lunch offerings. so disappointing. we will be looking for a new fave restaurant, since we can only come in on weekends! but, we did love you when you were good, drg! we will miss you!

bold breakfast. haven't had dinner here in years, (it's a bit of a drive), but the breakfast menu lured me in. loved their take on cronuts, the brie omelet was light and tasty, and both my husband and i couldn't get enough of their smash-fried potatoes. highly recommend!

too bad.... my fiance and i have enjoyed the flying goat many, many times (best pizza in spokane) and had never tried downriver grill even though it was right across the street and we knew it had the same owner. decided it was time when our 5th anniversary of togetherness came up, so i made a reservation.
long story short, we were seated at a tiny table back by the kitchen next to a party of ten or so celebrating a birthday (on the long wall of tables right next to each other with zero privacy). it was so noisy we could barely talk, the decor (which i had read in reviews that some people didn't like) was cold and off putting to us. i could tell my fiance was not happy, so i went up to the hostess to ask how long the wait would be to get a regular table by itself and she said it would be at least 40-45 minutes. we left after that, and ended up at a old favorite south hill restaurant with a nice booth and comfortable warm atmosphere, so thankfully our special night wasn't ruined.

dan. the downriver grill is arguably the finest restaurant in all of spokane. terrific service. food quality and presentation are second to none. great ambiance. prices are always fair. we have been regulars for years, and have never been disappointed.

good not great. our office was treated out to lunch at downriver grill by our boss. the luncheon was to benefit big table. my steak salad was good. yet, i can't say it was great. the service was good as well. so many really great restaurants have opened in the last few years, in the spokane area, and there are better options. if you were to go to downriver grill, i'm sure that you would get a good meal. however, for the price, you could get a better meal elsewhere.
