you know how you watch shows like bar rescue or kitchen nightmares and you're like, "i've been to a place like that before!" this is that place. overpriced, reasonable decor. the worst was the lackluster menu items. ordered the "buffalo" wings for happy hour. last i checked, buffalo did not mean "sweet and cold." wings were cold, red inside, and sweet/sticky. service wasn't bad - but no comp was given even though wings were awful and i only ate one. the place caters to a much older crowd - which is probably why it's still popular. there's a niche i guess.

this is a classy place serving good food. the prices are reasonable for the menu, and the food is well prepared. i have had the woodfired rotisserie chicken, and the gaucho burger. the chicken is cooked on a skewer over an open wood burning rotisserie in full view of the dining area. it is well seasoned and moist with a hearty smoky flavor. the seasoning is rich and fabulous. the breast meat was moist and perfectly cooks as were the dark meats. i had the chicken for lunch and it came with coleslaw that was ok but nothing special, and mashed potato that was creamy and delicious. the gaucho burger is a burger with bacon and guacamole. all the parts of this burger were satisfying. in particular the burger was thick and juicy, and the bun was soft and toasted and added to the flavor of the burger rather than either being a vehicle or distraction from the main event.

people with whom i have dined have had the bbq chicken salad and the cajun chicken pasta. i tasted both and wouldn't hesitate to order either.

doolittle's does not seem concerned with those counting calories so if you are looking to have a low calorie meal this might not be the place for you. i also didn't notice much in the way of vegetarian options. both these points aside, if you are looking for a good meal at a reasonable price you will not be disappointed at dolittle's.

way overpriced. in a word, formulaic. the service was scripted to the point of being stiff and awkward. i had jamaican jerk pork tenderloin. a nice presentation, but a jumble of flavors, couldn't taste any of the sweet potato underneath. half my tenderloin medallions dry, other half slightly undercooked, apparently from two different cuts. cooks (can't call them chefs tonight) have scripts, too, i think. i deserve better at these prices.

best chicken anywhere!. we discovered doolittles when we lived in fargo. it was a nice surprise to find a location in golden valley. the management is wonderful and waiters are freindly. we have mentioned on every comment card that we loved the asian shrimp flat bread, but after four years we have resolved ourselves of the fact it will never be served again. the reason to come here is the woodfire chicken with mashed potatos and vegies. we have no idea how they get the vegies to taste so good. the flavor profile is amazing. the chicken is moist and what memories are made of. we have enjoyed burgers, ribs and more, but someone in your party needs to order chicken to truely appreciate this place. parking is in its own lot and the front door team is always so friendly. the large semi open kitchen is warm on a cold minnesota night. the booths are large and very comfy. enjoy!

one of my favorite local restaurants. great happy hour, monday wine bottle specials and late night half off appetizers. wings are unique, fish tacos are awesome(order the fish grilled) and artichoke dip is terrific. rotisserie chicken is the speciality. add horseradish to mash potatoes for a spicy bang to your meal.

ok. the walleye fingers were great on today's. consistency is key to positive reviews.

i had appetizers last night at the golden vally location. the wings and artichoke dip were great. walleye wings were disappointing. tasted like they went straight from the freezer to fryer. to bad as i do like them freshly prepared.

it was great. super dinner, began w/woodford barbecued wings, tasty, the salad greens were not fresh enough for our liking, my salmon was deliciously sauced & asparagus perfect, key lime semifreddo was exquisite!

one of my favorites!. we live fairly close to the gv location so we visit often. great place to eat, friendly service (unless you sit in the bar, the service isn't as good) and the prices are reasonable. we love love love the wings, which just might be the best wings we have ever had. other favorites off the menu include; chicken sandwich, scallops, and the cajun pasta. on the contrary, the bread is the red headed step child and is god-awful! if you decide to do take out be prepared to sit on the phone to wait for the bartender to take your order. for some reason the hostess does not take your order, she sends your call to the bar....a little unorganized with that concept. overall, i would definitely recommend this restaurant and love going back each time!

i went here with my boyfriend expecting a good meal. we were just wearing sweatshirts but planned on spending a lot for a good dinner. they were not very busy when we got there. we were seated in the bar area with many dining room tables still open. our waitress kept forgetting that she was serving us. ordering drinks at the bar would have been faster than ordering from our waitress. the food was alright but we waited at least 45 minutes after our meal for a check with no apology for the wait. normally i have a lot of patience for a place but i will never go back there.

yum!. i've eaten there a few different times and have never been disappointed. went to lunch this week and had the mediterranean fish stew. trout, salmon, shrimp, mussels, red potatoes in a flavorful tomato sauce. the only quibble i had was that the potatoes were slightly underdone.

the other quibble i have with them is that the bread they serve is just simply awful. bland and tasteless doesn't cover it. it's like eating soft cardboard. it was good for soaking up the juices from the sauce in my stew, but that's about it. but the rest of their menu is just fine.

i will recomend this place!. we had the chicken, wild rice soup, one of their salads and the rotisserie steak. it was nice to walk into this place without the catchup, mustard, a1 and heinz 57 on the tables. if you do it right in the first place you don't need all that! the service was excellent, garnering a 20 % tip from us. the desserts were perfect. one thing i would change is the high tables. this place tends to lean toward an older crowd who would like to keep their feet on the floor. this was our first experience here. a word about the calamari: you could tell it was fresh, something hard to come by in minnesota. normally you will get tasteless, rubbery stuff with breading on it. not here! in fact everything was fresh, not frozen and heated up!

the rotisserie chicken is great!. the food here was very good. i ordered a sandwich that was made with some of the chicken that you can see on the rotisserie when you are in the restaurant. it was very good and very filling. the service was good, the prices were reasonable. we will definitely be back again!

amazing woodfire wings !. we go to doolittle's frequently, because it's good food for a good price. if you get there around 6:00 you can usually be seated immediately. we asked to sit 'somewhere warm' and they seated us right in front of the rotisserie! it was an amazing sight, whole chickens and chicken wings going round and round, dripping juices on the blazing wood fire below. by the time we'd finished our martinis (excellent, by the way) i was drooling. we ordered their chicken wings appetizer, and they were amazing--not too spicy, juicy, tender, falling off the bone. i was in heaven. after those i was ready to order a half chicken for my entree, but decided to have the chicken pomodoro instead. what a disappointment! the chicken was flavorful and crunchy but the pasta was bland and pointless. i ate the chicken and left the pasta. my husband had the blue cheese steak, which he enjoyed very much -- cooked to perfection and tender. i was jealous of the slivered root veggies that came with his entree. since it was his birthday, we got a free dessert so we ordered a bread pudding. a huge disappointment--it was dry, with a crunchy texture like they forgot to put the milk in, and had no flavor whatsoever. a waste of calories. the waitress offered to bring us something else but we were too full. our server was very good and made every effort to ensure that experience was enjoyable. decent wine list. they have a parking lot but it's always crowded.

doolittle's does little for me.the staff of disgruntled cheerleaders is inept, and the food doolittle for veg heads on a mission to eat healthy, & happy food.like the decor muchly, but the food is too airline for my tastes, maybe that is why the theme.
