terrible.. we too had the meat meze as someone mentioned here and i couldn't agree more with his review. the food tasted like it was a cheap microwave meal. and for what it was it was outrageously expensive, if your on a diet though it may be a good place to go since the food is so bad you probably won't eat much.the hummus was nice though and the staff were pretty nice also. but overall the experience was terrible.

very friendly service, very relaxing, not pushing to get you out for the next customer even when exceptionally busy. the food was delicious. i would recommend you book in advance. we didn't book yet the manager fit us in 30 mins. there is a bar where you can wait. i highly recommend anyone to try it. enjoy!!!

we called in for lunch on the off chance it having been a long time since i’d last called in there to discover the place was a pleasant as i remember.

i worked in greece a gazillion years ago and i love greek food. dimitri’s offers a real flavour of the aegean with a good menu offering a range of foods that include british regulars if you’re with mates who don’t know how to eat tzatziki.

it’s not overpriced and has a great feel all-round.

nice lively place with good options for all palate. enjoyed our group outing on a large table with good cocktails and food. pita hummus, falafels, fish grilled, salads, pasta and more. loved the roasted potatoes .

not the best food but good service and ambience. the waiter was very attentive and the two for one cocktails were generously poured. a good go-to if you're in the southern part of town.

very average across all aspects. served by 4 different people, only one of which was pleasant. food wasn't hot and not of good quality. very overpriced for what you get.

the lamb was tender and the side dish had a pleasant, fresh taste of green beans and parsley; it was a decent enough stew, but nothing special.

i’m greedy and it’s an excuse to overeat. there are starving children in africa and so it would be criminal to leave food (that’s what my grandma told me, and it would be terrible to disrespect the wishes of the dead). so, it’s 7.30pm on a saturday and we’re waiting in the bar for our friends. we were quite surprised when they wouldn’t allow us to open up a tab. then a bit more flummoxed when they wouldn’t accept card payments of less than £10. ‘but we do cash back’. how nice of them. our

what a dim do and view. i'm very disappointed to read such negative chat about dimitris. why and how has this place come to fare so badly? it was somewhere i regularly used as a rendezvous, with food-discerning friends, for years from the mid 80s until the late 90s.

i've only eaten there a couple of times in recent years, sharing the vegetarian meze, which has always been good. maybe, like it's near neighbour el rinkon, dimitris believes that a guaranteed influx of less than discerning customers at weekends will sustain them.

i shall certainly think twice about birthday celebrations there in the future, which i thoroughly enjoyed in the past.

this restaurant gets by on it's deansgate location and it's proximity to the student world. apparently popular with the young crowds, who have possibly been brought up on nuggets and will enthuse over anything heated in a pan for them, for the real food lover, this was the most appalling food i have tasted in a long time. we asked for meat meze, the feta was a full block of cheese sat atop a lovelessly prepared salad with pale insults tomatoes. fish bites were bland - meatballs tasted of ketchup, the lamb was not lamb it was hard chewy and dry, as was the beef. the chicken tasted like the sauce was a can of campbells condensed. here's the best. we complained. the managers attitude was terrible. when we said the fish bites were tasteless he laughed. he said what do you expect? they are fish bites! he tried to infer that it was a matter of personal preference and clearly we just didn't like their food. i said i loved greek food, he then stood in front of his greek flag and tried to convince me it wasn't really a greek restaurant. i think at this point he was getting squirmy, he said we'd done a good job of eating it. we'd eaten a piece of meat from each bowl. he refunded one meze and gave us free drinks. it was still £30 too much. it will continue to be popular with people who live off microwave cuisine, but for those of us who can boil an egg or flip a pancake, i'd head back to the stove.
