this restaurant gets by on it's deansgate location and it's proximity to the student world. apparently popular with the young crowds, who have possibly been brought up on nuggets and will enthuse over anything heated in a pan for them, for the real food lover, this was the most appalling food i have tasted in a long time. we asked for meat meze, the feta was a full block of cheese sat atop a lovelessly prepared salad with pale insults tomatoes. fish bites were bland - meatballs tasted of ketchup, the lamb was not lamb it was hard chewy and dry, as was the beef. the chicken tasted like the sauce was a can of campbells condensed. here's the best. we complained. the managers attitude was terrible. when we said the fish bites were tasteless he laughed. he said what do you expect? they are fish bites! he tried to infer that it was a matter of personal preference and clearly we just didn't like their food. i said i loved greek food, he then stood in front of his greek flag and tried to convince me it wasn't really a greek restaurant. i think at this point he was getting squirmy, he said we'd done a good job of eating it. we'd eaten a piece of meat from each bowl. he refunded one meze and gave us free drinks. it was still £30 too much. it will continue to be popular with people who live off microwave cuisine, but for those of us who can boil an egg or flip a pancake, i'd head back to the stove.
