die bosvelder pub & restaurant

i was amazed by this place . really cozy and the best service possible !! it is always packed !! great entertainment and great food from platters to burgers , everything is flavor packed and juicy !! great place to socialize with friends .

wholesome traditional afrikaner dishes served the old school way. service not great but a great journey back in time to my days on the farm.

as a guy i guess this spot has all that you are looking for in a good pub. food is generally good and service is on par. waiters always ensure your drinks are kept to the maximum and i'm guessing that's what makes you spend more lol. the burgers are great and you will need quite the appetite to finish it all. overall a good pub to catch a grub and a beer.

decor was rustic, hard seats and very dark.

food was ok but lacked in flavor, had chicken curry, lamb neck stew and we all felt it was a little bland.drinks seemed watered down as they were also tasteless...
overall experience was ....average....

after a hectic week we were looking to spend a lazy afternoon with some friends at a place we haven't been to before but had heard about die bosvelder recently.  keen to try it out we forgot to reserve a table but were seated straight away anyway!

this is "afrikaans" at its best.  staff, music, decor and food will all let you feel at home with the afrikaner heritage. the staff are friendly and efficient and the menu interesting and home to a few items you could previously only get at your "ouma's huis".  we started off with some pap fingers and potato-skins to accompany the beers.  the mains ranged from bobotie to lamb chops to ribs and everything was tasty and generous portions.  lots of doggie bags were required.  (one with bones for actual dogs.)

we couldn't pass up dessert but limited it to the amarula malva pudding and irish coffee.

all in all, a lazy afternoon with good food and good people. we'll be back!

food is good, once it actually arrives. been to the establishment 3 times in as many years hoping that this would change. wont go there by choice as the wait is just too long.

we were a very big group, so obviously food took little longer than normally, and this is where the waiter is the reason for this rating he made sure while we waited that our glasses was full the whole time!! brilliant service and food was good. will return because of service!!

very lekker kuier spot and to boot i have loved everything i have eaten so far from die bosvelder. a delicious bredie with samp has been by far my favourite.

oh man!! did we have a feast at die bosvelder on a friday night! the restaurant/bar is very big, sections available for all types. we wanted a nice dinner with the fam, so we bypassed the smoking/bar area. theeee best traditional homemade "kookkos" like your grandma used to make. we had starters and mains. our waiter jj was excellent, really friendly and organised. their mash and gravy melts in your mouth, their portions are big and well plated. meat are top quality and prepared to your requirements. if you're tired for the same old, visit this restaurant. their menu streches from burgers to "skildpadjies and papfingers". yummy food! i mean who doesnt love a braaibroodjie with steak?

such an awesome experience! our waiter ashley definitely made our sunday lunch so much better with her attitude and enthusiastic approach. everything was just perfect and tasty!

ek wil graag my ontevredeneid uitspreek oor ons besoek aan die restaurant saterdag 23 januarie 2016.  ons het eers ons wegneemetes bestel by die kelner voor ons ons aansitetes bestel het.nadat ons klaar geeet het en die rekening wou vereffen, sien ek dat ons wegneemetes nie op die rekening is nie.  ek moes toe hoor dat die kelner vergeet het om die wegneemetes te bestel.  regtig, dit is baie baie swak diens.  lisa

i love this place. close to home. awesome setup. classic boere kos. i'm not afraid to admit i'm a bit of a local. great spot for business meetings or just to let your hair down. and nice to see new and unique shooters on the menu along with those specials that us centurions come to expect from our locals. definitely worth a visit - come for the drinks, stay for the food.
ps: this the only place that serves biltong en kaiings! recently mentioned on travel24's article of 21 unique eats worth travelling sa for.

the food was amazing. we were a party of 7 and each and every one was very happy with their food. although they didn't have what i wanted the recommended dish was excellent. the price of the food is good value for money. booze is expensive., but the specials were very much makibg up for that (provided you drink those)
there were just 2 issues for me...1) the seats are extremely hard to sit on! 2) the live music in the pub area was so loud that it really wasn't the enjoyable "kuier" with family evening i intended.
i would have given a 5 if it wasn't for the above.
i would give it another try...maybe not on a wednesday night.

been there last night. good food big.menu. well priced. plates of food very big. a few times more and i know the menu by heart. steaks is good as well as all the chicken the only negative is when you taste apotatoe that was frozen.
