my go to bbq place for lunch. usually use drive thru and get a turkey sandwich with fries and soda for $10. love the seasoning on the fries. service is friendly and quick. have also bought meat by the pound to feed the family at home for dinner.

pretty good bbq. great sides and free ice cream. nice station of food additions in middle. sliders for a buck are great. easily can eat 4 of them for a filling dinner. great turkey here as well. will return.

a sad example of what happens when an institution goes commercial. the meat is ok, but the rest of the food tastes very cheap.

poor excuse for a bbq place. overpriced for small portions & poor flavor.

tiny portions, sorry sauce, very corporate bbq. let's face it - bbq in texas is something of a religion, and everyone has their own denomination - a preference of sauce flavor, portions, and more. and a lot of the texas bbq is done best by the non-corporate-chains... like angelo's in fort worth or dripping springs bbq (in dripping springs, on the road to fredericksburg). i find it interesting that other corporate bbq actually exists in texas - for example the one with the neon pigs playing guitars and their brown-sugar-soaked sauce, which is not texas bbq. but i digress.

personally, dickey's is okay in a pinch, or for catering at a corporate picnic. but compared to other texas based chains - like colters - dickeys falls short. the portions are tiny compared to most other bbq places. the sauce seems like something generic out of a bottle - no particular zip (compared to other places, chains or non-corporate). call it a matter of taste. i know there are many who prefer dickeys over other places for taste, but i feel in the chain bbq arena, colters comes out far ahead, in flavor, portions, just about everything. again, it's just a matter of personal taste, and dickeys is just barely "texas" bbq with generic flavor and small portions, high price. guess it beats mcribs in a pinch, but i would rather go a couple extra miles to a colters or angelo's for the real deal.
