i promise it's open.. the only way to know the place is not closed is by all the traffic. seriously good meat and three. soul chicken and collards. no need for butter on them cornbread muffins - it's like it's already baked in there! no room for dessert today but they were looking good. next time...

hands down the best down home soul food in the city. best greens. best field peas. best cornbread. best sweet tea. best banana pudding. fried ocean perch was the best fried fish i've ever had.

bad. are you into frozen vegetables, canned cheese, store bought cake mix and bad cuts of meat swimming in gravy? well then, the davis cafe is for you. located in a charming part of montgomery in a building with boarded up windows. enjoy.

don't knock it til' you try it. didn't eat liver until i ate it at davis cafe. now, i can't get enough, wish it was on the menu everyday. and the turkey & dressing is to die for. glad the legacy was passed on! consuella dumas

best fried chicken in montgomery. don't let the appearance turn you away. the food is amazingly southern and delicious.

ok, you can't let the outside appearance deceive you..this place rocks! it's clean and the food is great! the fried chicken is some of the best we've had!

delicious. if u r looking for good soul food, this is the place to be. i went there because of the reviews and was not disappointed, the food was very good, i had the pink homemade lemonade, a must to go with your food also the service was fantastic. it is worth ur while. i will definitely be going back for seconds.

wow, the collards, the collards, collards...are outstanding! the cornbread muffins are by the far the best in the city. can't go wrong with any of the dishes. great service, never had a bad experience in 5 years...

if you’re looking for southern soul food in montgomery, there’s no need to go anywhere but the davis cafe. just outside of downtown montgomery at 518 north decatur street, it’s not exactly where you’d look to find good food. and from the looks of the outs

nothing from the kitchen of the davis cafe is from frozen source materials. everything, and i do mean everything except the tubs of fake margerine, is hot, fresh and homemade.

ultimate hidden "meat n 3" place near downtown mtgy. excellent veggies like what your ma & grannie cooked right from the garden. tea is sometimes weak. expect long lines near noon for the takeout. sometimes the cashier is alittle slow. service is good & they take good care of you. desserts are extremely good--home made qaluality.
