dagmaran is a restaurant which only serves breakfast/brunch. because of its special focus, it is one of the best on this subject.
located on the top of a hill village, it has a fantastic view. also the ambiance is spectacular. the tables are scattered around a garden of fruit trees. depending on which table you sit, you may be eating just under an apricot, prune or peach.
when the food is served, you perceive that ambiance is not the only differentiation of the place. food is also special. various breakfast dishes are served in small plates many of which are specialities of dagmaran. all the food is acquired from different local suppliers around izmir. cheese kinds are from tire, yoghourt is from foca and etc. in order to prevent waste, the servings are really small but if you like any kind, you can ask for more.
you can order different egg dishes and egg on melted "tulum" cheese is my favorite.
prices are not very high. i would say it's average among izmir restaurants, and definitely cheap for anyone from istanbul.
the restaurant is not small but on saturday and sunday mornings you may have difficulty about finding vacant table.
in conclusion, if you live around or passing through izmir and if you like brunches, dagmaran is a "must visit" place...
