great little restaurant and wine bar!!. we stopped here for some appetizers and drinks before heading to a concert. the staff were so nice and the wine selections were good. also the meatball appetizer is the best! i could sit and eat those all evening!
i forgot my jacket when we left and noticed just as the concert was starting-came back afterwards and they remembered me right away and hadheld it for me. thank you so much!

sorry it took me so long to try! delicious!. very tiny quaint restaurant. rather jammed with tables, our table for two was butt up against the deli case and hot air was blowing out on my husbands feet. so, comfort wise it could have been more accommodating. service was great, and the atmosphere was quaint it was just a little crammed. short menu but we had no problem finding things we both enjoy. started with an antipasta charcouterie plate that was enjoyable and a bottle of inexpensive wine. salads good, nothing notable. our main courses were outstanding; i had the lamb shank over the best polenta i've had in a long time with some crispy roasted cauliflower, and my husband enjoyed his lasagna. due to the size of the place be advised to make a reservation which they do take. and enjoy, the food is delicious!

hidden gem in kc outstanding. i'm an airline pilot that flies at night and i woke up at noon starving...i would have eaten at a subway if there had been one next to the marriott kc country club plaza on main. fortunately, i took a short walk and found this little gem on westport. i almost turned around and walked out because it looked a little tony/expensive for a weekday lunch, but i'm so glad missy convinced me to sit down at the bar and have lunch.

i had the griddled polenta cake with eggplant & mushroom ragu topped with arugula and served with italian beef. so good...missy said you can get it with chicken, sausage, etc...but the beef was so good. she talked me into the dark chocolate pudding for dessert, so i complied (she's very convincing)...excellent. i couldn't drink because i had to work that night, so i had coffee out of a press (also excellent), but they appear to have an excellent wine list and many different beers and top shelf liquor. i can't wait until i can go for dinner and cocktails. it was more than i usually like to eat/spend for lunch, but the portion size was perfect and the price with tip was about $25.

put it this way, i'll be in kc tomorrow, and i'll be eating luch there again.

regazza is a little gem in westport. delicious cocktails, especially the ones made with their homemade limoncello. my husband had the brined pork chop and i had the chicken saltimbocca with polenta. both were delicious and the polenta was out of this world. the wine list was extensive and even my glass of the least expensive pinot grigio was very tasty. it is a small place, so call ahead the day before if you are going friday - saturday, or just show up and eat at the bar like we did. laura the owner is fun and friendly. don't miss it when you are in westport. they also have brunch on the weekends.

location and environment was nice but i personally did not enjoy the food.. limited options and overpriced in my opinion.
don't hold one bad review on it though, i've seen plenty of good things so maybe it's just me!

good things come in small packages. cucina della ragazza is a small, almost tiny italian restaurant toward the eastern side of westport road. it has a casual, laid back, fun atmosphere. due to the small size the restaurant is apt to fill up quickly. they do accept reservations, which is a nice option.
upon the bartender's recommendation we opted for the half pound meatball appetizer, which swims in a moat of marinara sauce. it was enough for two adults to share, and tasted sumptuous. i would order it again without reservation.
we sat up at the bar, which is an option for diners once the crowds start rolling in.
service was cordial and efficient. i recommend this restaurant without reservation (although it would still be a good idea to have them!)

cucina totally appropriate for westport. what a pleasure to find this tiny restaurant, with a seating capacity of just 37, in one of my favorite neighborhoods in kansas city. i was very lucky to get a bar seat early on saturday evening; this is one of the few restaurants where a seat at the bar is not a punishment.

not only was my spaghetti and meatballs deliciously prepared, it came with an included side caesar salad. how often do you eat in an upscale italian restaurant, overpay for your main plate, and then have to pay separately for a starter salad? it doesn't happen here!

the wine list is extensive, offering many appetizing choices at a low price point.

go!

best new spot in the city!. small, intimate, noisy, packed to the rafters: the place reflects the popularity of attentive owner laura norris and sidekick/actor/impresario missy koonce, often found slinging drinks (and bonhomie) from behind the bar. three savory reasons to visit: the giant meatball, the pastrami sandwich, and the delicious passamante salice salentino, at a mere $26 the bottle. oh, and the limoncello is made in house! people rave about the pork chop, and i favor the grilled tenderloin salad and the beet salad. dinner entrees run about $15 to $20, but you can't put a price on such a happy, boisterous atmosphere. go now, and go early, unless you're a patient soul.

cucina della ragazza is adorable. it’s the kind of neighborhood charmer you want to frequent, regardless of the quality of the food. in this case, fortunately, the food hits the spot so you can return again and again. the corner restaurant was, among other ventures, the optical shop of aspen in another life. owner laura norris did a terrific job with the complete redo, and i was glad to see that she kept the old brick walls. the matchbox space has a handful of tiny tables…don’t even think of going for dinner without a reservation, unless you go early enough to grab a seat at the small bar. we sat at a table for two in front of the deli case and next to the shelf of wines. though i assume proper wine storage is not feasible due to space constraints, that means your red wine will probably be on the warm side, as ours was. but those little annoyances are easily overcome by the lovely and efficient service. we started our evening by sampling
